C section scar rubbing on clothes

How do we deal with our scar rubbing on our underwear? I’m 3 weeks post c section and it’s starting to get irritated by my underwear.. I’m wearing really loose ones..

Roll up a muslin and pop it on scar inside underwear it’s a game changer!

@Saskia Mae wow. Will definitely try this. Thank you so much xxx

I haven’t had a c section yet (I’m due next month) but those silicone scar patches that aid healing look like it would stop it catching on clothes ❤️

Silicone scar patches are wonderful! And also, high waisted underwear. They are a must. I’m 7 months post and still super sensitive with clothes rubbing on the scar and find both those things to be helpful!

@Amanda I’m just not sure when I can start wearing them. I bought them before my c section but I’m only 3 weeks PP. when did u start wearing them? Xx

@Melissa hey, good luck with your c section. I’m not sure if I have to wait 6 weeks to wear them or not, as that’s when the scar is meant to be fully healed. X

I ended up having everything high waisted they are life savers

@Justina yeah I’ve got everything high waisted but guess the scars just irritated xxx

High waisted EVERYTHING for me from now on!

i wore adult nappy pants after both c section and they were amazing

Pre pregnancy I’m a size 12 in most things…. I’m 3 weeks post c section and I’m STILL wearing the size 20 underwear I was wearing when carrying my twins…. It’s very Bridget Jones but honestly I’m so comfortable I don’t care. Tesco ones are the best

Stick a pad to your underwear right at the point of the scar! It saved me during recovery 😂

High waisted underwear c

I didn’t start wearing them until like 3 months post partum .. but that’s because literally nobody told me about them until I started seeing a pelvic floor therapist 😂 .. I believe you can start wearing them as soon as 6 weeks! 10/10 recommend start wearing them earlier — they actually work wonderful for keeping my scar hydrated. Oh! That just reminded me - I used non stick gauze pads for forever ! (How did I forget that! .. I’ll blame it on postpartum fog!) They were great too! I wore them for forever until I felt like the incision was healed to my liking.

@Amanda my incision oozes when I get hot and sweaty. Got it checked but they said it’s just part of the healing process and to keep it dry. Do u think the gauze pads could help? Xxx

I used the high waisted disposable Frida underwear, but managed to wash and reuse a few times. I felt it supported my wound in healing

@Emily I’ve got some at home, they were too tight straight after the c section. Perhaps I will try them now I’m 3 weeks PP. thank you xxx

My Midwives told me to put a pad on the inside of the underwear at the point of the incision. I only took mine off this week, I'm 6 weeks PP and only now it doesn't really get irritated. I recommend high wasted underwear also depending where your incision is.

I was recommended to put a panty liner on the inside of my underwear where the scar was to help keep it dry from postpartum sweats and from rubbing on my clothes!
