Talking

Does anyone else have a alittle one that took alittle longer to fully talk? My son just turned 3 and he says alot of words, colors, numbers, abcs, shapes. But has a hard time forming sentences and have a convo back and forth is this normal? Has anyone elses kiddo took longer? He is the oldest and has a baby brother and doesnt go to daycare so ive wondered if thats why he is taking longer? Im wondered if he has adhd but his pediatrician doesnt think so because he does well in alot of areas!

My son is 2 and nowhere near where he should be at the age of 2 with speech

@Christina🤱🏼🍂☕️♈️ are you thinking he has adhd or just a delay?

He definitely has ADHD. Boy never sits still and his attention span is not of a 2 year old either

Hard to diagnosis adhd until boys are older. It’s more complex than just hyperactive behavior. It involves memory, executive functioning processing, and it focuses on ruling out OTHER developmental disorders etc… My 6 year old is like this. Look into Gestalt language processing. Two of my kids have it. Eventually they will develop language but it’s a different way of development and therefore teaching it is different.

My son with ASD started to say sentences at the age of 7. I feel like him being around other children really helped. My daughter age 5 also has autism, I think she has adhd too but pediatricians do not access for adhd until the age of 6 in the UK.
