C section opening

So im just over 2 weeks post c section & my incision has opened ever so slightly one end. Spoke to 111 and they prescribed me antibiotics. Ive been taking them all weekend and they said to see GP on Monday. The pain on the side my scar Is opened is agony when i get up to move, but its like a sharp nerve pain or almost like a ripping pain. Ive covered the hole like advised but i don’t know if this is normal and im worried - any advice is much appreciated

Hey love i had all my children c sections and this last one I had I had a opening on both sides and I got an infection so they suggested a nurse come to me every week and clean and bandage it so it it's hurting I definitely suggest you go back to see your obgyn just to make sure because it shouldn't be painful If it's small

Have you been discharged from the maternity unit? Could you call triage for advice?

@Laura i did call triage and they said let the air get to it but 111 said cover it so nothing gets in the incision. Its so confusing. Hoping the GP can help tomorrow. Was discharged from midwives and then it opened

Did you mention the pains to triage as well? Is the pain the same or worse since you called? Are you worried about it?

@Laura yeah i mentioned the pain & they said it could be the infection but i had the antibiotic now it should get better. I am worried about it thats why im going back to gp tomorrow, i dont feel unwell in myself though which id positive i think?

I think so. I think I called once and they said if I felt ok I could wait. I think it was for the same reason actually, but hard to remember.

Hey, I had similar with my c section (10 months ago). I’d recommend going to your GP if you can. I had an antibiotic steroid cream to apply twice a day and that helped lots. I also bought some sterile gauze pads from Amazon to dab it with or place along my incision so it didn’t rub on my clothes. As long as you feel ok in yourself I’d say nothing to be too worried about ☺️ remember there’s 7 layers of tissue trying to heal underneath your scar - please don’t over do it! 🫶🏻
