Silicone strips

I am 5 1/2 weeks post emergency c section and I stil feel like there is dissolvable stitches over my scar. My OB recommended using silicone patches to aid in healing. Has anyone used them and seen good results? And what kind did you use?

I thought the patches could only be used after 6-8 weeks and it's fully healed

I have this one from Amazon and have been using it since my scar healed fully (around 8 weeks pp). I’m now 7 months pp and my scar is so light in colour and the texture is a lot better! I was a category 1 emergency csec and my scar was really textured and wonky, but wearing the tape 24/7 has definitely, definitely helped! X https://amzn.eu/d/3xKeNoR

I have been using them since like 3 months postpartum? .. I’m nearly 7 months post now. They do keep my scar moisturized and help with clothes rubbing on it but in terms of them changing the colour of it, no. I would recommend starting to use them asap and I’d bet you would see good results, I think I waited too long. If your doctor is recommending them go for it!
