Does this sound like autism?

Hi all, my little boy turned 2 in March, I’m starting to have concerns he is showing signs of autism & was wondering if anyone knows much about autism or if anyone else’s child has it too?

A few months ago my son started doing this eye thing where he looks up and then to the side, then in the past month he keeps putting his fingers in his ears and covering them randomly, yesterday & today I noticed some hand flapping randomly, & his behaviour seems to be getting worse and worse. He’s more irritable & he’s so hard to keep entertained. Every time we go out in public he has a huge meltdown and it’s to the point where I don’t want to go out anymore. It’s draining me. Hes suddenly stopped liking certain food textures and gets really weirded out by some.

I just feel lost on what to do:( x

Have you had his ears checked? Hand flapping is very common for young children that doesn't mean he's autistic. Most children become fussy with their food at this age. As for the behaviour.. there's a reason this stage is called terrible twos 😅 Remember they love to test boundaries and see how much they get away with. Just be consistent it will get better

Just seems like normal child development x

DO YOU PREPARE HIM TO BE OUT THE HOUSE??
BABES ABSOLUTELY SOUNDS AUTISTIC.....GO GET HIM, YOU & WHOEVER THE FATHER IS GENETICLY TESTED CAUSE IT'S PASSED DOWN FROM ONE OR BOTH PARENTS.

ALSO DON'T PANIC CAUSE IT CAN BE KINDA NORMAL DEVELOPMENT BUT SOME OF WHAT YOUR SAYING IS KEY FLAGS FOR AUTISM

AS AN AUTISTIC MOM OF TWO AUTISTIC BABIES
HE'S STIMMING
AND THE COVER OR PLUGGING HIS EARS MEANS HE'S OVER STIMULATED
THE TEXTURE THING IS VERY NORMAL FOR US ALSO

I’m actually a nurse myself so have some equipment at home & have checked his ears and all are fine. We also had to take him to hospital due to sickness & they checked his ears etc.. and all is fine. It’s more so the ear covering & this eye thing he keeps doing that concerns me the most

definitely not an ear infection, he had them checked at the hospital a few days ago, I’m a nurse myself & checked them & all is fine x

yes I always prepare him to be out, I do have an uncle who has Autism & my grandad was also, I do wonder if I could have it too. It’s mainly the ear covering, the eyes rolling up & the temper that is concerning me more than anything. I know it could be completely normal, but there’s some little things that make me wonder!

I'm sorry I don't mean to offend you but I don't think a nurse has the equipment or is qualified to do a proper ear check. My daughter is currently waiting for an appointment. It's been over 6 months and we're still waiting. If a nurse could do this there wouldn't be such a long wait.
I don't understand why you asked because you already made up your mind. Your child sounds like a normal 2 year old. They do weird things because it's new to them and they discover their bodies and what they can do. Hand flapping at this age is normal. Most kids do it. Tantrums? Damn right. 99% of the mums on here will tell you their kid is exactly the same. Yes it sucks but it will pass. And if it doesn't then you can get him assessed. Don't try to stick your child in a drawer because it makes it easier for you.
I have 5 kids and 2 are autistic and there's so much more to it than stimming and tantrums.
And yes all my kids had awful tantrums and we're hand flapping at some point because it's normal!

When did you circumcise your baby?
If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?

Can someone pls help i keep making this post and nobody is responding

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

I feel like just a milk cow

Hi I have a 16 day old via c section, I'm a FTM never having been around babies before as I am the youngest of my household and from a small family. My husband is fantastic with our little one. But ever since I've had the baby I just feel like the only thing I'm good for is producing milk. I feel disconnected from my husband like the only reason he's around is because am producing milk. We were having some issues before the baby and we're struggling it took a while to feel like he was onboard even though he said he was from the moment we found out. I dunno if I'm feeling like a spear part because I'm lacking confidence with baby or because I feel like he wouldn't mind being a single dad. Is this postpartum hormones or something else?

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Crawling

Did anyone’s little one start crawling yet? I feel like we are falling behind but really have no idea. I’m trying to introduce more floor time but it’s been rough because of having hardwood floors and our 80 lb oblivious to life dog. I got us a carpet for the living room and trying to put the dog out more when the weather allows. She sits like a pro and will roll to get the things she needs😅 but no real signs of crawling yet.
