Mother’s Day Plans?

Hi April 2025 moms! I wanted to ask what you all were doing for Mother’s Day. My little one is 4 weeks old and I don’t feel comfortable going to a restaurant/out, but I’m struggling to think of other ideas. What are you doing to make this first holiday special?

Maybe let dad watch baby, and I get pampered (nails, hair, etc) ! And when I come home, he can make me a grilled steak dinner! That sounds nice to me lol

No plans yet. Just going to my son's school for muffins with Mom

Do a dinner date at home, get takeout or go for a stroll, I know it might be hard to go out without baby that early.

We are having a brunch for me, my SIL, my MIL and my mom here at our house since I’m still very sore from my 4/26 birth. It’s also my second baby so I don’t want to rush getting 3 of us ready to just go eat somewhere packed

@Muskaan (smile) this is exactly what I’m thinking! Thanks!

@Natalia Mother’s Day brunch sounds like a great idea!!!

@Lyn mmmmm steak! I recently had my first one cooked medium rare since pregnancy. It was perfect! Thanks for the suggestion.

We reserved a table for the Mother's Day Tea event by our local park district on Saturday. Something to dress up a little and get some cute pics, and it's only five minutes from home. On Sunday I'll probably just want to relax. I'm more flummoxes by what to do for our anniversary tomorrow! Not ready to leave baby with a sitter, and his schedule isn't consistent enough yet to really plan around anyway. May just wait until my mom is back in town and have a nice dinner out later this month.

I feel the same way. My munchkin will be 1 month on Mother’s Day and we aren’t going anywhere. Maybe to a park if it’s nice out but don’t feel comfortable going to crowded places or anything.

No, my fiancé doesn’t know what to do. I think it would be nice for once for him to do or plan something nice for me especially since he was trying to bail on my csection.

I have a 2 week old and we decided on having a park picnic so he can have some fresh air and still be with other family members in an open space. He’ll probably sleep through the whole thing in his bassinet stroller anyway.

@Rachel this is such a cute idea!!
