Asked heal baby care app and sharing in case it helps: "It's great that you're observing your little one's sounds and communication! At 8.5 months, many babies do start to babble, but it's also common for some to develop this skill a bit later. The sounds your baby is making, like raspberries and "ohhh" and "ahhh," are positive signs of vocal exploration. Encouraging more vocalization can help; try engaging with her by imitating her sounds and adding simple words like "mama" or "dada" during playtime. If you have concerns about her speech development or if she doesn't start babbling in the next few months, it might be helpful to discuss this with a healthcare professional for further guidance. How does she respond when you talk to her or make sounds?"
My little one only made the sound ya for about two months then randomly she came out with dada and clicking her tongue two weeks ago and hasn’t stopped since and barely says ya now, I wouldn’t be worried if she’s blowing raspberries that’s a step in the right direction!
Mine doesn't either - he makes similar noises and also sort of roars a lot but no actual da/ma etc. I won't be worried for another couple of months as he's developing normally otherwise
