My partner wasn't allowed as well
Doubt it as I wasn't allowed anyone to stay after the birth of my son in Glasgow and all my friends had babies in paisley and they weren't allowed either and been told this time no again x
No overnight unless you've had complications that stop you caring for baby
I was allowed my partner with me 24/7 in QEUH and I was in for 4 days, you can swap hospitals at any point in your pregnancy I think so if you want him there with you could ask to change if it’s manageable to get to & from x
Not sure about RAH but I’ve been told my partner is allowed to stay with me in QEUH at all times although just on a chair. Unsure if it’s the same rules as both hospitals are within the GGC health board x
We were put onto a ward with either 4 or 6 beds (can’t remember exactly) and it was only mums and babies. Unsure if you have a private recovery room if it would be an option but we weren’t given the choice on the ward sadly x
@Shan @Chloe so I gave birth in 2022 at the royal in Glasgow (c section) and husband had to leave around 10pm and come back around 9am following day. This time I’ll be a section again at the qeuh, so do you think he’ll be able to stay overnight? It would help so much not having to ring the midwife everytime I need to pick up my baby/feed/change him or just grab something from my bag!
@Lisa yeah, my midwife said my partner is allowed to stay overnight on a plastic chair and my cousin had her baby in October in QEUH, her husband stayed all 4 nights with her 🥰
Omg that would be amazing @Chloe I was only in 24 hrs with my first c section but hated him having to go, felt like a pest everytime I needed something simple!
@Lisa yeah I was allowed in Oct 2024 and that was on induction, labour & recovery ward across 4 days and my friend was the same and she had a section. I wouldn’t have coped without him being there 🥹. They just ask that they don’t come on the bed with you and that you are quiet/respectful of others xx
Just had a baby 8 weeks ago at rah he was allowed in from 9am till 9pm then was asked to leave
