Gestational Diabetes

I’ve just found out I tested positive for GD and now I’m spiralling. Has anyone else joined the GD club? Would love to have someone to talk to through this next little journey..

I had a borderline result with my first, they treated it as GD, it was diet controlled the whole way, didn’t add any extra stress for me, just a couple more meetings with the GD nurse to go through the results.
You’re given this little tester to do 4 readings a day and it syncs with their team so you come in and talk trough it every few weeks

I’ve got it and I’m struggling also. Completely changed my diet, switched to wholemeal, smaller portions, more protein and veg yet I’m still getting high readings. It is so defeating! Hope you’re ok xxx

I’m so sorry, I can imagine it’s very frustrating to be doing what you can and not getting the results you want. Have they mentioned trying tablets/injections instead to you?

I have a consultant appointment on Tuesday and they’re going to see what the best next steps are - I was hoping not to have to go on medication because that’s means I’ll have to be induced earlier, around 37-38 weeks. How about you? X

I’ve got a GD education session booked for Wednesday at my hospital and then will get a monitor so can start testing from then. Hopefully I can manage through diet, but we will see how it goes and what they say.

Scan needed at 33 weeks

Hi ladies! I just had a midwife appointment (I am 33+5)..the midwife was different to my usual midwife. She's requested I have a scan within 72 hours as she said baby is measuring a little small, however, she did say that it's likely nothing to worry about and it's probably just her measuring me a bit different to my usual midwife. Has anyone else had this? Am a bit worried although babys heartbeat and movements are completely fine.

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲

Rolling milestone at 5 months - What’s typical ?

Good morning ladies,

My daughter will be 5 months old tomorrow, but there’s still no sign of her rolling. She does tummy time and loves lying on her mat, playing with hanging toys above her and to the sides, but she only lifts her legs and doesn’t seem interested in rolling or moving sideways yet.

Anyone else the same or have your babies already learnt how to roll yet ?

Thank you
