Crib transition

Hey everyone! Just curious: are any of you having your baby nap in the crib? Or is it still too soon to expect that?

My LO will be 2 months old on Saturday (born on St. Patrick’s day, 3/17 at 3:17 am 🍀). This week, I’ve been having him take some of his naps in his crib since my husband has returned to work this week and I need for him to begin napping in a safe place while I get stuff done, instead of in his snuggle me lounger or just in my arms. It’s going alright…about a 50% success rate. We are also working on using the pack and play which is in the family room. He hates carriers as of now.

Also: when do you all plan on transitioning your LO to the crib in a different room for bedtime? Mine is still in the bedside bassinet and does alright at night, minus an hour long grunting session at 5 am. 😵‍💫 I know that the risk of SIDS decreases by 50% if they stay in your room until 6 months but I know a lot of people move them out earlier.

TIA!

So we actually have my daughter in the crib in her room already, there are nights where I just end up in there a lot but we are at roughly a 11:00, 2:00, 5:00 feeds and rarely stretches to only have two feeds.

I mention it bc I think having the baby in the crip verses the bassinet is about ease on you

She also naps in the crib roughly twice a day on a good day

I highly recommend buying “taking Cara babies” 0-5 month classes, it has helped so much in getting my first daughter and this daughter to start/built good sleep habits 10/10 her tips saved me to get the baby in the crib

I have my daughter nap anywhere and everywhere lol. Crib if we’re upstairs, pack and play downstairs, baby dome if we’re outside. It’s really due largely to temperament as to whether they’ll nap on their own vs contact nap, although there are of course a few things you can try. I mostly nurse to sleep and then wait 8 minutes to transfer to a safe sleep space. If you wait too long they may be in a lighter part of their sleep cycle and be more likely to wake up.

I moved my first into her own room at just before 4 months only because she was a very restless and loud sleeper and neither of us were getting any rest with her crib in our room. I started her napping in her crib at about 3 months and it went well. My little one is 2.5 months now and we haven’t started any naps in the crib

she’s moving out of my room at 4months old and i use the dreamland weighted sleep sac to put her down for naps during the day and it works like a dream. at night we co sleep

During the day my babe naps wherever 😂 I don’t plan on moving baby out of my room till 1 year +…. Her bedroom is upstairs & we’re downstairs. My momma heart can’t handle that , I would never sleep lol

ooh is the sleep sac a swaddle one or one that has the arms free?

Unfortunately weighted sleep sacks aren’t safe and many have been recalled/no longer able to be sold.

My baby is 2 months and he’s slept in the cribs for naps here and there (some more successfully than others) for a while now

At our 2 month appointment our pediatrician encouraged us to move him ASAP and said none of them understand why the AAP recommends that… (don’t entirely know why!) so just last night we ripped the bandaid off and moved him to his crib and also unswaddled him. He slept for 4 hours just fine but then was up every hour, mainly looking for comfort. I think it’ll just take some time for him to get used to it

ya the arms free one!

We moved from the bassinet to the crib because my little guy started rolling on his side in the bassinet and I didn’t want him to roll over. I have the newton mattress in the crib so it eased my mind moving him into there. We did move the crib to our room though. I do naps in the bassinet in the kitchen or on the lounging pillow next to me on the couch while I work.

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Help! My baby is 3 and a half weeks old. Every bath she goes in quite happy but will only stay like this for a very few mins, if I try to clean her or move her we have tears and after a few mins the same. It's like she is scared. Our current baby bath is quite big should I try a different one? Looking for any suggestions as want her to enjoy bath time not be upset and I'm scared I'm going to make her hate it😢💗

Big nursing bras!

I’m looking for recommendations for good nursing bras for bigger breasted ladies!

I’m currently in a 38H which seems to be the biggest size done at M&S (UK based mama here) and it’s snug and not as supportive as I’d like. When I look online, they mainly seem to be sized S, M, L, XL etc rather than bra sizes.

Any recommendations please?

Crying during feeding

Hey mams! My girl is 6 weeks on Monday and is having so much trouble with feeding. It doesn’t happen every feed but more often than not she will start a bottle and just start crying as if she’s in pain and she can’t take the milk. I think it’s trapped wind but I genuinely don’t know what to do it’s so pitiful to see her not be able to feed! She’s formula fed and on HiPP Organic.
Anyone else been in this position? I’m pretty sure it’s just a bit of trapped wind that she needs to fart out but can’t! If anyone has any advice I’d be very grateful as I think I may need to tape my eyelids open soon 😂
