I lucked out with a really great MIL but she still from time to time will give her input on something and it just drives me crazy. I always try and remind myself that she is trying to help in the way that she knows how.
Also with our hormones fluctuating so often it’s hard not to snap. Breathing in the moment has helped sometimes.
my husbands mom HATES me so i don’t have that option but my own mom drives me nuts… sometimes i don’t even feel like my baby is mine…

Man I’m sorry to hear that. Do you think you’d be able to express to her that you feel she’s too overbearing?
girlll i wish ! it’s like anytime i try it’s an issue… thank you for letting me vent!

I just learned to be casual but direct and firm. I think whatever approach and how it's taken is going to depend heavily to who you're talking to. When we got comments about how they did their "kissing baby" rules, I replied "oh no we don't allow that either because there can be illnesses or diseases passed that we don't even see! :)" or when the carseat was being installed wrong I just threw out there "oh use either the seatbelt or the latch, but not both." I have such a hard time speaking up for myself and setting boundaries, it is a learning curve! Give yourself grace
