Emergency c section recovery

I am first time mum and alone here with my husband only. I had my emergency c section on 2nd may and took complete bed rest for one week and than started mobilizing. My room is upstairs and now I have to go to kitchen down to make food because husband job is resumed. Please suggest best tips for quick recovery. I donot feel much issues in walking but sometimes sudden pain in stitched and yellow discharge still coming from stitches end. Its very difficult to handle infant without anyone she is not even letting me to go to toilet 🤔 Help please !!

I would recommend you try to keep walking and do a little at a time. Try and have a feeding pillow for the baby to hold them and feed. I found that was quite helpful. Going up and down stairs is hard. Try and have as much downstairs of you can to limit all the trips upstairs. Alternatively just stay upstairs if you can manage. When changing baby try and do standing. Kneeling and picking up baby will be hard. Getting baby in and out of cot or moses basket will be hard. I used the bassinet in my pram which was a about higher so I didnt have to bend over too much. Ultimately just take it each day at a time. You are recovering and looking after a baby. Just do your best to get through these next few weeks. It gets easier.

hey hun, has the docs/nurse checked your stitches? yellow discharge from the stitches is a possible sign of infection.. as for post section tips, I would say meal prep in advance (or have hubby do it) so you just have to warm it up and eat.. take the stairs very slowly. one step at a time, use the rail for support and try to minimise the number of times you go down n up.. is it possible to ask hubby to use some holidays up even if its just half days? so he is not away for the entire day.. depending on his work, can he work from home a little longer?

@Rav yes they have checked twice for first time they checked it and asked me to come on monday to DAU which I didnot go because of long waiting times. Yesterday they have again taken sample for infection and said result will be out next week. Now waiting for next week thursday. Hubby cannot take more off however I can only go down once in a day and hubby is very supportive.

I had a bassinet in the downstairs living room for baby and slept on the couch the first week or so (fuck them stairs!). I was taking care of baby after day 2 alone just fine, just had to move very very slowly

I had yellow discharge and found out it was an infection. Please get checked as it can really set you back if it gets too bad xx

People contact your gp I had yellow discharge from my section scar 3 times and all 3 times I had an infection

They have taken my sample for checking infection will have to wait until next week
