I’m 35 (almost 36) weeks pregnant and at my most recent ultrasound they said that my baby is measuring in 88th percentile. I’m scared of the pain and scared of tearing! But I’ve been told this measurement is hardly accurate…

They are very inaccurate. They said my babies head was 90th percentile in an ultrasound so I was scared of tearing. He ended up having a 30th percentile head 😅

Our baby was 92nd percentile per the ultrasound, he was born average size and I didn't tear. You've got this

I wouldn't worry. As others have said, its so inaccurate!

My baby was normal apparently and ended up being a 99° baby. Don’t stress too much as these measurements aren’t accurate and I’ve survived so you will smash it! Enjoy your last few weeks and then enjoy your little bubba! 😊

The estimates can vary wildly in terms of accuracy.
Also it's not a bad thing for them to be slightly bigger than the 50th (middle/average) centile. Just like adults, babies come in all shapes and sizes!
In case it helps, my 8lb 6oz baby was much more difficult to birth than my 9lb 9oz one 🤷♀️

My baby was in the 95th percentile at 36w3d. He was measuring at 7 pounds 11 ounces. He was born 6 days later at 7 pounds 2 ounces. They aren’t accurate and could be off by 20% in either direction.
