Yes, it's active sleep, like sleeping next to little piglets! 😊
Mine done this too, like a lil piglet 🥺
mine does this too and i also call him piglet lol. but i’ve noticed when he is laying on his tummy on me, he doesn’t do all this grunting, whereas when he is laying in his bed he grunts and kinda seems in pain (he has a lot of symptoms of reflux so i think this is partly to do with it!) it’s hard because i know babies have to be put to sleep on their back, but he seems in less pain and more comfy laying on his front on me, all squished up🥹 i of course follow the safe sleep recommendations but i so wish he could sleep on his front in bed and be more comfortable and at ease, but hey ho xxx
@Sinead could of wrote this myself. Absolutely the same. But more so in the eve than the day. I've brought colief drops today as he is so windy, trumps constantly..x
@Jodie oh bless, it’s so hard isn’t it! we’re gonna buy some infacol tomorrow for my little one and hope that works, it’s so hard bcos my one doesn’t burp when i want him to either, i spend ages trying to burp him, rubbing his back, patting it relatively hard and he won’t burp, but he will then randomly let out a huge belch at some point that i can tell was just what he needed! Xx
Makes me feel so much better that it’s not just me going through this.. 🥹
@Sinead This is so us😢… We so wish she could just sleep on her tummy but it scares the heck out of us
@Orient it’s much easier going through tough times knowing you’re not the only one❤️ i’ve seen a lot of posts about april babies going through this, and generally i think this is a normal baby thing as their digestive systems are still developing so i think all babies go through some kind of reflux phase, which causes the grunting and tensing. my first boy did this back when i had him august 2021, and i had to give him infacol to help him. you’re not alone !! it doesn’t last long either, im pretty sure their digestive systems mature pretty quickly within the first month or so xxx
Yes my baby girl doesn’t stop fidgeting, honestly, I’m shattered from hearing it but I think for the most part she’s asleep! Have read and heard it’s totally normal x
Yes we get this - sometimes snorting sounds. Ours definitely sleeps through it all though, but same stops when we hold him. (I think because we cuddle him more upright than when we’ve put him down)
We have exactly the same. Grunting, and tossing around for 30s - 1min or so and then goes quiet for a couple of minutes. She seems to be tensing her stomach up too. Can carry on like this for hours or sometimes she wakes herself up. Have tried co-sleeping with her next to me but that makes no difference as she’s still on her back. Doesn’t do it if I’m holding her on my chest. Really hoping she will just grow out of it soon!
Forgot to say she doesn’t seem to do it if she’s asleep in the pram and it’s moving…. Even though she’s flat on her back. So confused 😂
@Gemma exactly, same here! She’s all good in her pram😅
My baby boy is 5 weeks 3 days old today. This is exactly what’s happening to us! I believe it’s the 4-6 week growth spurt/ leap babies go through. I am typing this while I have him beside me, close to my chest🥹 Moments before this he was grunting when he was in his crib
