I don’t have the Mam microwave sterilising tub but was wondering if I can just sterilise the bottle itself in the microwave by filling it with water?

I wouldn’t put glass in there just incase it shatters , I’d get a Milton cold water steriliser xxx

Milton tablets or just put in to boiling water will do the job x

You can just throw everything in a pot of boiling water for a few minutes to sterilize it. I dont know if just putting water in it and into the microwave would give the same effect but maybe? Might be a Google question.

I’ve been using the mam glass bottles with pidgin nipples for 2 months. I use the haakaa silicon sterilization bags in the microwave for 2 min. after every wash. Do the glass by themselves, and plastic and nipple parts in the next round. I have 2 bags to make it go quicker. I add about an inch of water to the bag, but read the instructions. When it’s done, I let it cool for about 3 min, open the bag and then let it cool the rest of the way before I put them on the drying rack. So far no breaks, cracks, or shatters. After the baby has outgrown bottles, you can use the bags to make steamed veggies. You don’t strictly have to use the mam steriliz tube… it’s a marketing ploy. You can used any silicone steriliz bags. I like the haakaa because I know and trust the brand. You can order them on Amazon. Yes, they can cost a bit but well worth it in my opinion. I haven’t tried the disposable plastic bags because the glass can get pretty hot and I’m worried that it might melt.

Why did you pick the Mam glass bottles? I chose them because they haven’t had any reported lead in their paint designs. I use the pidgin nipples with them, because it’s the closest to the suckling at the breast, encourages a deep latch, and prevents nipple confusion.
I chose them for the same reason, reported no lead like other ones have. We went from plastic to glass due to leaking micro plastics then found out the glass tommee tippee ones has lead on its paint and plastic parts too. It’s been stressful but mam bottles doesn’t have great sterilising instructions and I don’t want to buy lots to go with it as I want to see what she’s like with these bottles first.

I feel that. I baby sat throughout my youth and was a preschool teacher for 10+ years. In all that time I noticed that the plastic bottles developed a gross smell and got cloudy. Plus the micro scratches from repeated scrubbing made me know right off the bat that I wanted to use glass. I did a lot of research to find the best products for my little one. I tried the nipples that come with the bottle because I had the wrong size pidgin nipples. I ended up having to introduce the bottle earlier that I wanted because my supply was low and I had to supplement with formula for a few weeks. My little was not a fan of the one that came with the bottles, but luckily the new nipples were delivered within a few days. Like I said the sterilizer bags can be used for making steamed veggies later when they are on solids. I also use them to sterilize my pump parts, her binkky and nasal aspirators. So they get a lot of use through out the day. You can boil glass bottles, do a google search on how to.
