My baby is really unhappy- what can I do?

My little one has recently turned 13 weeks old (3 weeks corrected as born 10 weeks early), and for the last 3 weeks we have struggled getting him to sleep in his Moses Basket (he slept in this no problems before). It’s like soon as he hit his due date, things have just gone completely downhill, he just wants to be held all the time, throughout the day and night which means he only wants to sleep in ours arm, which I hate doing as I never wanted to co-sleep but I have no other option as this is the only way he will sleep. Due to this I am not getting no sleep, as I’m on high alert. I have tried gradually putting him in his Moses basket throughout the day and he lasts around 10 minutes before he screams the house down again and then he needs to be picked up or he won’t settle. We’ve also been told that he has colic, then we got told he had reflux and now they reckon it could be a milk allergy. I have changed his milk 4 times now and he’s also on Omeprazole. I just want my little boy sleeping independently again but I’m just lost on what to do next because I have literally tried everything and spent so much money on different things to help him. No matter what I do, after he’s had a feed, I’ve changed his nappy, I’ve changed his clothes he’s just not a happy baby and will cry in discomfort, it’s honestly breaking my heart seeing him like this. I’ve been to the doctors/A&E several times just to be told he’s a healthy baby there’s nothing wrong with him. I honestly don’t know what to do anymore and I don’t know how much longer I can go on like this 😭

My baby was like this too just unsettled and crying everytime we put her down. Does he take a dummy? The thing that helped us to get her settled in her Moses basket was a dummy, the love to dream swaddle and white noise, not sure if you’ve tried this yet but keep holding on you’re doing amazing!! It does get really tough especially when you’re not sleeping well either, but it does get easier. As for the reflux/ colic side of things, my health visitor said to prop the Moses basket/ next to me mattress up by putting something underneath the mattress just so they’re not lying flat xxx

I'm so sorry you're going through this! We had a very long and tough labour, so our little girl was exhausted for a good week after birth and would sleep in her cot or moses basket with no issues at all. However, when she became a bit more awake and aware, she then went through a phase of never sleeping unless on me, too. I understand your discomfort because I never wanted to co-sleep either. She has also been diagnosed with CMPA and has been on the new formula for about a week. All of this to say, we are now at 10 weeks, and things have really improved. I am able to put her in her cot after she gets into a deep sleep on me and keep her there for her whole sleep/nap. Rest assured that this phase you're in won't last forever, and you're doing an amazing job! Xx

ahhh thank you so much for this, he’s been on his new milk for 2 days now so I’m hoping once the old stuff is out his system and this one kicks in we will start to see improvement 🤞🏻 x

My baby is 11 weeks and I am genuinely in the same exact boat, he had colic and now has bad reflux he’s also on omeprazole started 3 days ago, no matter what I do he just moaaaaaans, he’s fed, changed, has nap windows, starting to accept I just have a whingy baby, night time is hell, he goes to sleep for first few hours in next to me crib then always ends up either on my chest or next to me in the bed which like yourself means I’m on high alert and don’t get much sleep, it’s been like this for almost a month, he’s also on CMPA milk but literally not sure what his issue is, HOWEVER for the past 2/3 days since magically taking omeprazole he’s not been whingy except when tired, could be speaking too soon but yeah it’s really hard and I feel for you as I am going through the exact same. STAY STRONG❤️

oh it’s absolutely awful isn’t it. He’s been on the Omeprazole for over a week and we’ve still seen no improvement as of yet. He has been on his new milk for 2 days now so I’m really praying that this well help, I just want my happy baby back as it is honestly breaking my heart 🫩

Regarding the Moses basket I had the same issue after my lo turned 8 weeks, she started to hate her Moses. My mother in law said she must not like that she can’t see as the sides are covered. If I’m busy around the house I will put her in the next to me cot instead and she sleeps better. Same as the night sleep, she sleeps with the side down so she can see me but if I fell asleep down stairs and I put her in the Moses she hates it.

Do you formula feed? I did also see a thing that said we might be making it wrong. We assume all formulas are mixed with x amount water in oz but it might be that it needs to be measured in ml.
There’s only 10ml difference each oz but to a baby it’s a lot. This means the formula could be too concentrated. I check the tin and it said ml not oz and I started making it measured ml and it’s made a big difference. Sounds silly and obvious but double check on the tin if it should be oz or ml as some are different.

Wdy think of this for a toddler to learn word construction?

I'm open to anything else to start teaching him to read and write. He's 3!

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
