so granted he does get called into work sometimes but i’m really struggling to know what to do when he lets them down. work always seems to come first, always has! but what do i do/say to my son?! he’s 4 so his dad is like his idol at the moment. i bought him a big choc chip muffin to cheer him up and that seems to have helped but i know im better explaining and talking than just getting him a treat

I have no practical experience. If he’s a good parent other than needing to work unexpectedly, could you talk to your little one about how their dad has to work to provide for their needs? That’s what I keep telling myself to mentally prepare for going back to work. As much as I’d rather be home with my son, work is part of how I’m taking care of him.

I don't know but if you have a father or brother or any make relatives that are good people see if you can get them to be in his life a lot it won't replace a father but it'll ease the sting little boys need adult men that love them to look up to
