What are everyone’s best tips for bottle feeding a new born ?
I have a prep machine however the smallest bottle you can make is 4oz (my baby only drinks 1 at the moment so we’re wasting 3oz each time)
We’re not in a routine so making a bottle with kettle is too long when he’s screaming 😆

Nuby rapid cooler is amazing!x

Don’t use a prep machine- they are well known for not making the water hot enough to kill the bacteria in the formula.
I highly recommend making your bottles for the day and keeping in the fridge and warming in the microwave/bottle warmer when needed. This is what we did.
Then after 6 months I did the hot shot method with the kettle and topped up with filtered water. X

The first 2 ish weeks when baby was having 1 sometimes 2 oz we used the smaller ready made milks, then as painfully annoying as it is we used the kettle to make 2oz or 3oz bottles then used the perfect prep machine when the babies hit 4oz.
Buying the bottles obviously ended up costing a lot so we made the decision to just get the box of powder and make them with the kettle, roundly knowing when baby wanted feeding and setting a alarm to make it and a cool it before feeding time. Thankfully the small oz feeds don't last long and you'll be using the machine soon enough x

It’s not recommended to make bottles and keep them in the fridge and most certainly not heating them in a microwave.
The nuby rapid cool works really well, the prep machine has been known to cause a few issues but the same as everything good and bad reviews to everything. Xx

yes it is. Health visitors highly recommend it

Nuby rapid cool. You might need 2 for the early days as they take a couple of hours to cool down and reset. We had no issues with our prep machine but were very careful cleaning it and changing the water and filters. We combi fed in the beginning so used kettle most of the time. If you get a good flask you can fill with fresh boiled water for out and about if you're not near a kettle. The ready made is good but expensive. We were told making ahead and storing in the fridge isn't recommended, nhs website says only to do that if you have to.
You're supposed to take the ready made stuff with the teats into hospital as I've been told they don't have bottle washing facilities.
We found cold water (milton) steriliser the easiest as you just chuck everything in. Teethers, the lot.
Good luck!
