Baby only falls asleep on my chest

Anyone else deal with this with a three week old?! it’s very rare that she stays asleep in her bassinet. How did you work on this transition? I’m worried she’ll get too used to sleeping on me. Even though I love it during the day, it’s not practical overnight.

She’s gotten a couple 2 to 4 hour stretches in her bassinet, but I’m not sure what we did differently to help her fall asleep .

I think she struggles with trapped gas, any advice for that? 🫶🏼🤞🏼

For the trapped gas, look up the “I Lpve You” massage.

That’s me at the moment too (mine is 3 weeks as well)
We had some really good nights before with the transition to the bassinet but it’s seemingly getting harder and harder. She’ll go down but then wake up 20-30mins later (if I can get her down - mostly just have to pick her back up and then she falls asleep on me again)

I’ve got no help but if it’s makes you feel less alone, I’m in it as well

At that age we rocked my son until he was asleep (lying on thighs, rocking side to side) and then transferred him to the bassinet. It also took him a couple of weeks until he knew the bassinet is a safe sleeping space.

And regarding swaddling, my son sleeps with his arms up, so the love to dream Swaddles worked really well for him

I have a 5 week old. We swaddle her and then rock her in the cradle position with the shusher machine. She will fuss for awhile first bc she’s swaddled but eventually falls asleep. Sometimes we use a pacifier but most of the time she does not like the pacifier. Once she is in a deep sleep I will transfer her to the bassinet, bottoms first then head; then I’ll keep my hand on her chest for about a minute or less to make sure she is calm then slowly release. My LO sleeps anywhere between 2-7 hours before waking. She is now starting to sleep longer stretches throughout the night. I’ve tried the swaddle up where her arms are in the up position but she occasionally falls asleep in that only during daytime naps. We use the halo sleep sack swaddle for night time sleeping. Best of luck! Zzzz

yep she’s swaddled 😅

Waiting for deep sleep is key - mine used to take 12 mins specifically and putting him down after this would wake him up. 2-4 hours is great at 3 weeks though x

Wdy think of this for a toddler to learn word construction?

I'm open to anything else to start teaching him to read and write. He's 3!

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
