Fighting Sleep

My LB fights sleep constantly. Every nap unless we are out in thr pram or in the car is a struggle. We have to hold him really tight with his arms tucked in while keeping his dummy in and ssshhh and rock quite aggressively for him to nod off, but he fusses and fights it everytime. Bed time is the same even after a calming routine. I'm using huckleberry sweet spot now to try and help but it's not any easier even after tracking wake windows and sweet spots. He also will not be put down in his his so we have to co-sleep to get any sleep and ge wakes every 2hrs for a feed. (BF). Is this normal? Can anyone offer any experiences please? It's been like this for 5 weeks now and is starting to affect me mentally.

Keep following the app for a while. It took a few weeks for the sweetspots to work for my LO because he just wasn't used to it. He now naps better in the day following the sweetspots, but still takes more than the recommended number of naps, but gers the reccomended amount of day time sleep. He is starting to take fewer longer naps, but he's also been waking up crying recently so I think we're at the regression stage, which will change everything sleepwise anyway.

With the waking every 2 hours for a feed at night that is completely normal for BF babies. My LO will occasionally go 3 hours between feeds at night but mostly goes for 2 before he wake up for more. It's mostly because BM is easy for their stomachs to digest so they get hungry again before babies who are FF or being weaned and getting some calories from food.

I’ve been going through the same thing with my little boy for a few weeks now. He’ll be so tired, his eyes will be rolling to the back of his head yet he’ll still fight it. A couple of things that have definitely helped me as well as the huckleberry app is putting him in the carrier (he’ll often sleep within 5 mins of being put in it) and laid back breast feeding which for whatever reason my son just responds really well to. I’m not sure if he feels closer to me, just prefers being on his tummy or feels he has more freedom to move- he just loves it.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Baby with chronic congestion

Hi everyone! My 1 year has been a congested baby since birth almost. She breathes through her mouth so often that it wakes her up multiple times at night and she cries and screams and then struggles to go back to sleep. She wakes up every 1-3 hours and sometimes can’t go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!!! Piriton is the only thing that seems to help her sleep mostly through the night but I can’t keep giving her that!!
Does anyone have tips as to have I can do or give her? Has anyone experienced? I have no idea when I’ll get an ENT appointment and I have no idea what he can give a 13 mo :( we are desperate for sleep so any tips are welcome!! We have tried steam inhalation, saline drops, vapour rubs and everything off the counter basically!
