40 weeks

Been trying to avoid getting induced which is being discussed at my 40 week appointment tomorrow 🄲

What are your best hacks for getting your baby out?

I’ve been taking raspberry leaf tea, pineapple, clary sage oil baths, dates, birthing ball exercises, occasional spicy food and even had sex a few times to try and get things going but nothing is helping.
I had some contractions over the day on Monday but only 1-2 an hour and nothing lasting over 20 seconds, nothing since either 🄲

I can’t walk very far with PGP and the pressure is so bad I can barely get out of bed just now

Any help is appreciated!

I had a sweep at 40+1 weeks then had sex on 40+4 then I was in labour 3 hours after🤣
I think baby will come when it wants though! I booked an induction on 41w so I scared the baby out of me🤣

Nothing is helping because the baby and your body just isn’t ready. My second came at 42w. Induction was due in 2 days so 42+2 but she contractions came at a day earlier and I had her (second baby) at 42w. I didn’t want induction so I’m glad I was able to avoid it. 40w is just an estimate. It could take up to 42w for baby and body to be ready to birth. Sex triggered it though, but we were having sex every day anyway.

I had three sweeps which worked in the end. Much better than being induced! šŸ‘

going to ask for a sweep at my appointment tomorrow to see if that helps too! šŸ¤žšŸ»

hoping this is the case for me too! Going to ask to get a sweep done at my appointment tomorrow to see if that helps!

The only other thing I can think of is driving along a bumpy road or pavement..

Baby may just be super comfy, and your body just isn't ready yet.. doesn't mean they won't come out without an induction. Ask for a sweep at your next appointment and see what happens.

may need to get out in the lorry with my partner up some dirt tracks and hopefully that’ll get things moving šŸ¤žšŸ»šŸ˜‚ will definitely ask about a sweep tomorrow!

You do not need to be induced! Due date is an estimate. I went into
Labour at 42 weeks birthed 42+1.
In France your due date is 42 weeks is just a number a man invented

Avatar

exactly what Kellie said. due dates are an estimate, 40 weeks does not mean baby needs to come out immediately.
i went into labor very soon after sex, but ultimately it’s up to your body and your baby

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

C section trauma ?

Is it a thing to be traumatised by a c section delivery? I’m 4 weeks pp after having an emergency c section. I won’t go into the ins and outs to what got me there šŸ˜‚
Nothing went wrong in the surgery at all, it was just incredibly intense, overwhelming and scary, but luckily my baby was delivered safe!
However I’m finding my birth experience quite difficult to even think about and when I do, I feel a horrid gut wrenching feeling, my heart aches and I just uncontrollably cry! My body feels really alien to me, like it’s not my own and I just feel really let down.
