My little boy had just started walking, how long would you give it to get him some first shoes?
Thanks x

Learn more about our guidelines. As soon as my son started taking a good few steps, I got some shoes, and within a week or two he was walking confidently with no issues. They really helped him with his balance x
I would get pre walkers first to help them gain more confidence before hard shoes x
I got my son some a week after. I went to Clark’s and got him measured to make sure they fit perfectly x
I'm definitely going to clarks. Just can't remember how long i gave it for my first born before going to get some x
@Shanine I got first pair Clark’s shoes, measured him and then I just buy that size elsewhere and they’ve fit great. NEXT do some great options too x
@Laura thanks hun. I'm definitely getting him measured at clarks x
I’d personally wait until your little one is confidently walking for a good couple of weeks. I got my little ones first shoes from startrite as they were a lot more flexible than Clark’s. Just be aware with Clarks they measure feet sitting down and not standing which can make a big impact on size and width of feet. Just something to be aware of from one mumma to another x
@Jess I will definitely think about that thanks x
My little boy started walking on the Thursday and my mum took him for his first shoes on the Monday (she really wanted to buy him his first pair)
We got my little boy some barefoot shoes very soon after he started walking so he could practise outside. They’re from Happy Little Soles, they’re great!
Both my boys have been walking for a couple of weeks before I got shoes for them. Best to get pretty confident in bare feet first.
My wee one started walked few weeks after her 1st birthday and got her shoes few weeks later as we had baby shoes we let her get used of wearing shoes first
