Did anyone else have an elective c section with only the help of their partner for the two weeks of paternity leave?
My partner has started a new job so will only be able to get the standard 2 weeks leave, so if I chose to have an elective c section I wouldn’t have help with our other 3 children, when guidelines are to not pick up anything for 6 weeks.
Has anyone else managed to do this? Was it worth it or do you wish you stuck to a natural labour?

Yeah I did! No issues to be fair the other 2 were 2 and 4 so we told them I couldn’t pick them up and they understood it
I was back to normal with everything except heavy lifting by about 10 days pp so just trust your body, take your pain killers and keep moving

Yess I did! But it was our first baby so it was much easier. But it was amazing, he helped me so much.

My partner went back to work 5 days after my first c section. Granted it was our first baby so I didn’t have other children to pick up but we still managed.
My second section he had 2 weeks off and then went back to work and I was at home with an 18 month old and a toddler. It can definitely be done.

Had my section c section 7 weeks ago, husband only had 4 days off, then I was a one man band to our newborn and 15 month old. You just get on with it because you have no other option, well that was the case for me anyway x

Yeah I did no issues xx

I had an emergency c section was in hospital for 3 days. The day after I got home, the other half had to go back to work. Was hard work but made sure I was down stairs with out lil one before he left for work. Granted, it's our first child. Bit I had to get on with it and knew my limits what I could do

Yeah I did, my partner only had 4 days off after my c section as he’s self employed so had to run his businesses, I was in hospital for 7 days & then it was just me and my newborn twins, you just manage
They literally have you standing up a few hours after your surgery even though I’d lost a lot of blood, I was back driving after 2 weeks too x
