Pumps!!

When you’ve pumped milk are you washing and sterilising after each use?

If you have a different routine please let me know. I don’t know if I’m being excessive doing it after each use.

I normally rinse through with hot water after use and wash at the end of the night. I don’t sterilise them as you don’t need to x

Or you can pop it straight in the fridge for the next use x

Ok that sounds like a sensible plan! I’m definitely starting to think I’m being excessive doing it after each use.

Popped it in the fridge for the day then in the evening I’d wash and sterilise

Avatar

Wash after each time and sterilize once per day. That’s the recommendation in the US anyway per the CDC.

Rinse and pop in the fridge. Wash and sterilise at the end of each day

Like others said- rinse and place in fridge between uses and wash at end of night. After 3 months- I didn’t sterilize it anymore (same with bottles).

Straight in the fridge until next use.
Wash thoroughly before bed everyday and pop in the UV steriliser to dry and sterilise (may not be necessary but I don’t like to air dry anything)

Avatar

I put it in the fridge between uses and then sterilise once a day

Sterilise/ proper wash once a day, just use boiling water after each use otherwise. After little one is 6 months you don't need to sterilise at all x

You can pop it in the refrigerator!

Just wash. I have never sterilised my pump as the instructions say to only wash it.

Wash every time, sterilise ahead of the night pumps

Steriliser once a day!

Thank you mama’s you’ve now saved me a lot of time

Either washing or rinsing and storing in fridge then sterilizing at end of the day.

I EBF, my life is chained to that pump every 3 hours or so. If i washed and put the parts and bottles through the sterilizer each time i would have instead of partial sanity left absolutely none😂... i rinse with hot water as hot as my sink goes, soak in hot water and wash every day at the end of the day ... I sterilize every 4 - 5 days. My daughters pediatrician said i can even sterilize just once a week as long as i am thoroughly washing or boiling the bottles parts pump parts every day etc but thats my system i do give or take the circumstances...ie if we are traveling i am OD with the sterilizing and washing just unfamiliar areas or like today being up in the mountains i do a big wash and sterilize from just being outdoors and all that 🤷🏻‍♀️

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.

Bath Time

Help! My baby is 3 and a half weeks old. Every bath she goes in quite happy but will only stay like this for a very few mins, if I try to clean her or move her we have tears and after a few mins the same. It's like she is scared. Our current baby bath is quite big should I try a different one? Looking for any suggestions as want her to enjoy bath time not be upset and I'm scared I'm going to make her hate it😢💗

Big nursing bras!

I’m looking for recommendations for good nursing bras for bigger breasted ladies!

I’m currently in a 38H which seems to be the biggest size done at M&S (UK based mama here) and it’s snug and not as supportive as I’d like. When I look online, they mainly seem to be sized S, M, L, XL etc rather than bra sizes.

Any recommendations please?
