Novant or atrium?

I’m having second thoughts and anxiety I had my first son at atrium cmc and had an emergency c section I just felt rushed and my son couldn’t handle it so I ended up having surgery from complications. I’m hearing that novant is better and some women wouldn’t care to go to atrium. I’m due in four weeks and idk should I change hospitals. I’m planning on delivering at atrium pineville maternity center in 4 weeks. Is it too late to change? Should I just push through? Would love to hear some of yall opinions too.

As someone who worked in the Novant down there and delivered in Novant, go atrium

Hello! I just had my baby in November at Aitrium , I ended up having emergency C-section because I developed a fever and her heart rate was going up so we had to. BUT I think I had a good experience with the team maybe not PERFECT but good. The only reason for sure that’s true is that I woudl definitely do it again there because they have the biggest children hospital in Winston ( where she was born) and the fact that we were right there if something god forbid went wrong gave me peace. But that la really persona

Atrium pineville is one of the best for maternity! Novant is gross, I would never go to the main novant. Atrium main is amazing as well!

I went with novant, due to going to a provider ob… but also by choice as well. My experience there was okay.. we did have some complications (not with me & baby) just with birth certificate & food. The nurses/doctors explained everything to me.

I interviewed a few different doulas and they all preferred Novant. Most of them said Novant was more patient centered and didn’t push interventions that weren’t absolutely necessary. The doula I ultimately went with doesn’t do deliveries at Atrium at all.

I gave birth at novant matthew’s and received amazing care after my emergency c section. i’ve never had great experience with atrium. and matthew’s medical center literally has the best staff and care i could imagine.

I believe it’s too late again I’m not so sure because I know you have to deliver at hospitals your doctors are at. It would be nice to probably search different hospitals your doctors deliver at and then chose. I just want to say just remember to advocate for yourself you don’t have to get another c section if you don’t want your more than welcome to try naturally you just have to advocate for yourself I feel that was the biggest difference while delivering my son at Novant Matthew’s As well at Novant I felt a bit rushed and the doctors and nurses thought I was crying wolf with my first child. I just definitely believe you just have to take control of your birth trying getting an birth plan written up that definitely helped me because Novant did honor it I believe you have to give it to your doctor so they can have it in the system I did extra by also bringing the paper as well. Definitely good luck and you can do it

Keep in mind that both of these systems are HUGE and generally speaking are going to provide similar care, but may have lots of individual hospital differences. I’d start with what is most important to you - the OB/practice, hospital you deliver at, health system, etc and go from there. I started with the OB and they were through atrium and I had a perfect experience. Since you are due in four weeks, I would stick with the hospital your OB practices at

I had both of mine a Novant. It was amazing. My younger sister had her first at atrium and had a very bad experience.. she had her second at Novant and she wishes she had both of hers at Novant.

Well I tried 🤣

I’ve spoke to a few on here recently regarding Csection date and said I’d be begging for a date at my 28+5 week appointment .. I tried but got told no 🤣
On a brighter note they’ve promised they book it at my next consultant appointment at 31+5 so let’s hope they keep their word🤞🏻🤞🏻

Throw up every time you eat a certain food?

I have never had any food allergies or indigestion. But I’m 23+ 4 days and I cannot eat soondubu ( Korean soft tofu soup). I can eat everything but for some reason every time I’ve had it since being pregnant I throw it up. Does not matter if I eat out or cook it at home, eat it with seafood, beef, or no meat. I’ve tried four times since being pregnant and I’ve thrown up all four times. Has this happened to you? Is this normal? It’s not unhealthy, it’s protein but my pregnant body rejects it almost immediately. Why?!?!!

Will be 16 months PP for my C section

In October I will be having baby #2 via c section 16 months after baby #1 via emergency c section. I am wondering if any mamas have had 2 c sections close together and how was the recovery of the second time? I am a little anxious that it will be more painful than the first time.
