I’m due to have my first c section due to being breech in 1-2 weeks time.
I’m wondering if the abdominal binders are worth getting for post op?
And any other tips would be greatly appreciated. X

Yes! It’s also really nice to have a pillow to put against you’re stomach if you are in the car. I tended to just use the binder that I had during pregnancy postpartum for a bit

amazing that’s so helpful thank you x

Hospital provided me with two and I bought one before I knew and didn’t use any of them lol

Yes!! As tight as you can stand it. Wear it the full 6 weeks ! Helped my stomach go down so much and kept my insides in place 😭

I got the Frida Mom binder and I loved it! I only wore it a couple weeks until my scar healed, but it really helped me with the pain! It kept everything tight and not moving when I walked around and stuff.

fab! I hope this happens to me 🙏🏼

I wish id have got one

I bought the Mama Bump but ended up using the one from the hospital for the first two weeks.
Also for c section recovery, I recommend install a bed rail. I got a simple one from Amazon. It helped me a lot getting in and out of bed.

Thanks everyone. I’m from the UK and it’s not routine here to be given one or to even be told about one.
I’ll be purchasing one now 🙏🏼

I heard they are, I wore one from the hospital for a couple days and then that was it. My body looks fine lol

I was going to suggest asking if they provide them for you my insurance covered 3 but they sometimes just give you one for the incision to heal correctly without causing to much muscle strain on the staples or however your hospital does it

I never used one, didn’t see the point.

I got a band off Amazon and started using one or two weeks after once some of the swelling went down and it helped sooo much with the rest of the swelling and pain. Highly recommend

I was told both times by my surgeon not to use one and tbh didn’t feel the need for support. My figure came back on its own, no shelf or any muscle issues and no back issues. You want to use your core muscles to encourage recovery. Also, they can be unhygienic and your wound needs air to heal. Baggy clothes all the way for the first few weeks.

I’m in the UK and the hospital strongly recommended against them. The wound needs air to dry and heal - and I couldn’t imagine anything right against my stomach at the moment! Baggy clothes and loose pants are a dream.
