Birth Reflection and Perinatal counselling at Colchester Hospital

Has anyone recently had a birth reflection meeting and/or counselling with the perinatal mental health team and found it useful? Can you request your hospital notes for the birth reflection? I also want my notes from my pregnancy appointments with my midwife but don’t know if this is possible.

Hey darling. I had birth reflection - tbh it was most useless thing ever and made me feel worse after😂 absolutely you can do a patient access request to get all your documents. I have got copy of mine from start of pregnancy to aftercare.
If you follow link below it gives you an email address for them. Email and ask for access to your documents from what date from and too. It takes upto 30 days to receive it x

Your legally entitled to any and all of your medical records I believe, but these won’t be through your midwife, you will have to request these through the proper measures. I had my birth reflection meeting last month following my birth in May 2024. It wasn’t useful really, but it was nice to fill gaps and request feedback for mistakes that were made (and to be told that reprimands were made for those mistakes, and investigations took place). For my meeting, I had a midwife called Faye and she was really lovely and helpful. Noted everything we spoke about and sent it to me in an email including details on how to get my actual birth notes. When you request your notes, you put the dates in so you can request all of them

I hope I haven’t just rambled crap this entire comment, but feel free to message me direct if you need me to clarify xx

Scan needed at 33 weeks

Hi ladies! I just had a midwife appointment (I am 33+5)..the midwife was different to my usual midwife. She's requested I have a scan within 72 hours as she said baby is measuring a little small, however, she did say that it's likely nothing to worry about and it's probably just her measuring me a bit different to my usual midwife. Has anyone else had this? Am a bit worried although babys heartbeat and movements are completely fine.

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?
