Hey, we use this car seat and have done since birth, however my son is 4.5/5months old and i just don’t know how position him!
With the newborn insert, his head is perfect but he seems squashed and uncomfortable, however when we take it out, we’ve noticed if he falls asleep his head droops down… just can’t seem to find a medium!
we have left the head support in anyway, but doesn’t seem to make a difference. we’ve tried reclining the seat, sitting it up, etc… i’ve tried adjusting the head panel to bring it higher/lower… his straps are nice and snug and his body is secure it’s just like he has a little bobble head…
help🥲🥲🥲

Do you want to post some pictures with and without the insert?

i can’t because he is only slumped when sleeping and he’s only asleep in it in the car so i don’t really have the means to take a photo, if he’s asleep when we get home next time we are out i’ll update post 😢

We have this seat. We found with the newborn insert in that babies head was falling back and looked weird. Took the insert out around 3 months as baby is big and it seems perfectly fine now.

I still have this problem at 7 months it’s so frustrating! My little boys head drops if he’s super tired, I have to try wake him to pull his head up or to move to the side. It scares me so much when I am driving!

a picture of him when you put him in the seat can be useful too, to see if there's anything with the fit that needs to be altered. Are you seat belt or isofix fitting it?

opposite with us! he is cramped by head is fine with it, without he just flops…😢

isofix x

Could be that the head rest is now too low and needs raising

sometimes with isofix the angle is quite steep. You could try seatbelt fitting instead, the seat should be more level then and the head shouldn't be able to tip forwards at all.
Make sure the straps are coming out level with the shoulders, or just below (no more than 2cm) and pinch the straps together under the chin as you tighten, this gets the shoulder pads under the chin and helps keep them in a good position too

exactly what i’m experiencing!!!!

we are travelling hour and half tomorrow so am so nervous!

i’ve tried the headrest lower, higher etc

we’ve got 3 hours today…let me know how yours goes and if you do anything different!

he needs to be pulled down more to the buckle, think sitting on top of the strap basically.
And try seat belt fitting instead

he is sat on it once it’s in car, this is on a bed and tilted back to see the head, when he’s on the base, you can’t see that bit x

we have tried seatbelt but he screams the entire journey because his legs become restricted to the point he starts coughing fits 😭

also there’s now a gap between his bum and the back of the seat so in event of a crash, there’s space between them? wouldn’t that mean he’s not as secure as not held in place

the headrest is too low here. Try with the insert in and pulled down nappy to buckle.
There should be space between his legs and the seatbelt if he's pulled right down

that’s because it isn’t reclined here but once reclined in car lines up perfectly otherwise the straps sit at his ears in the car , sorry it’s not the best example but i can’t really get one on the move🥲x

the headrest looks too low behind his head that's all. The insert is there to fill the gap between their back and the seat. They need to be nappy to buckle and straps coming out level with shoulders.
If you manage to get a picture of him in the car all set up and ready to go then that would be more helpful.
I really think he needs the insert though
