Thinking I've hit perimenapause and not even 40 🤦‍♀️

I've been seeing doctors to rule things out until we find a cause but reading over hormones maybe the answer will be there. I see endocrinology tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone here can relate.
I'm 39 and have an almost 3 year old. I've been having night sweats, hot flashes in the middle of the night and frequent urination for a little over 6 months now. I'm beyond exhausted all the time with an unfamiliar brain fog and sometimes lightheadedness. I've recently been getting itchy at night and have had a spike of unusual health anxiety around this plus IBS flare-ups and GI issues. I don't know it's this yet but very possibly hormonal and feel kinda alone and at a loss. The exhaustion is so bad it interferes with daily life and I want to be there for my daughter. Anyone with similar experiences that may could offer advice?

I was 36, when the night sweats started, shortly afterwards I got hit with RLS, then of course insomnia was next, but I don’t see how anyone couldn’t end up with insomnia & irritability, when every time you do sleep you wake up freezing& half drowned & you can’t stop flipping & flopping around all night, then if you do try to get back to sleep, it’s on towels bc you don’t want to interrupt your husband’s sleep too. My hubs installed a window AC unit & started sleeping away from me on half of his pillow, that way I could start out 🥄 him on his pillow, then still have both sides of mine to roll too, he bought me blankets & pillows that were supposed to help, I’m so cold all the time, the flush doesn’t wake me, it’s the freezing afterwards. I’m 42 now & my kids will be 4 & 16 in Sep right bf I turn 43. I don’t seem to stay responsive to any meds/vitamins/minerals, I find something that helps w symptoms & it may be a few weeks or even a yr, but they always come back.

You’re definitely not alone!! I am the same age as you. I’ve started experiencing what I guess are hot flashes. ( they hit during the day for me). Lightheaded and slight headache. It’s happened 3 x and always the week before my menstrual cycle

Mine started at 28. Yup, you read that right. Turned out to be low thyroid which causes premature menopause. Get checked. I recommend a functional doctor.

Saw endocrinology and I got a full hormone panel with antibody test drawn on Wednesday (12 viles 🥴) but expect results this coming week 🤞🤞 not sure if my insurance covers functional medicine but my primary sent me to all the specialist to check things.

This sounds so familiar. You are definitely not alone. I have a hyperthyroid which showed up alongside those symptoms at 39. I am 47 now and still dealing with this…no matter how well I follow my thyroid levels or not, so maybe it was perimenopause all along. Either way, it is not fun.

Found out I have very high ATCH and cortisol, most everything else is in normal range. They don't know what's causing this yet but I did pass the suppression test so no Cushing's (yet atleast). Getting a sleep study done for possible apnea as the cause and an MRI to check for pituitary tumors.
I stopped my birth control (nuvaring) and all my GI symptoms went away, so there's that. Craziness happening is normal in this stage of life I guess.

I am so sorry you are struggling; perimenopause is BRUTAL! I’m just on the other side of it now and HRT was a game changer for me, but it was a process getting here.  If you’re interested, I've included a link story to my perimenopause story…FYI, it’s a LONG READ, LOL😜, but I share, hoping to help other women not suffer the way I did!  I hope you get some relief soon!🙏💖. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJyB-cYxhWA/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

I know it's been a long time but this is how long it takes to figure things out apparently.
I may still be in early perimenapause but the part that has caused all the crazy systemic symptoms turns out to be "hormone sensitive Autonomic Dysregulation".
It feels good to have an explanation and a clear direction to feeling better.
Keep advocating for yourselves, that's sometimes the only way to get anywhere!!
