I had a really positive experience in the birthing suite/birth pools. I felt very supported and listened too and could play my own music etc.. I cannot speak for needing to be on a main ward though. You can only have gas and air in the birth pools so if you would like/need other pain relief you will need to be on the main ward. I think you can request to look around beforehand if you want to. Hope that helps!
definitely thank you, it’s my second pregnancy but first time giving birth at Truro (hoping not to give birth in hospital but birth centres)

Well the birth centre was honestly lovely. You have your own private room with pool, bed, bathroom and the midwives were very attentive but also respected my preferences etc.. It’s all fairly new still and once our boy was born we were left to relax and leave in our own time. Fingers crossed all goes to plan for you!
thank you, if birth centre isn’t an option it would be Plymouth

I had a lovely birth on the delivery suite at Truro - it’s been decorated much like the birth centre now and I had a lovely relaxed birth and excellent care. There are also birth centres in Helston and I think Penrice
I make my birth plan Friday hoping for a birth centre birth but depends on today really

The Truro birth centre is in the same building as delivery suite so if they need to transfer you there it’s easy to do. Hope you get the birth you want!
do you know what the criteria is for birth centres? I found out today hopefully if I have pre eclampsia

I don’t I’m afraid but your midwife will know when you do your birth plan. Fingers crossed for you

I had both my babies there and all the midwives were amazing. With my first baby I started on the delivery suite, went over to the birth centre then ended up back on the delivery suite. With my second I had a lovely water birth and was well looked after
I’m hoping to have a water birth sounds lovely. I couldn’t with my first so hopefully can this time

I had a water birth at treliske in 2023 and the midwives were amazing!
The birthing center is super chilled, it has a speaker and coloured lights to be able to calm down with. Atmosphere was amazing!
The birthing center is midwife led so if you need a doctor or you need epidural/ strong meds they will just transfer you over the corridor into the delivery suite. If you are under consultant, or you have risks above low risk I believe you cant use the birthing centres x
I don’t know exactly what is going on but I am currently in Treliske now. Having to stay the night then will know more tomorrow hopefully. At least I can see the hospital

I had a great induction and water birth at Truro April 2023

I have had 3 babies in Treliske and they’ve always been wonderful! Good luck mumma, you’ll smash it x

I had a surprise birthday. Not my planned. Due to ruptured waters at 36 weeks. But honestly I couldn’t fault the help I got or the expertise. Everyone was so lovely and helpful!
Also loved that they let my other half stay over with me and our son! We live in Cornwall Devon border so travelling back and forth would have been a nightmare!

Iv had 3 births there and all were amazing. Last one in birthing centre was wonderful.
