Went on vacation and my 3yo daughter saw one in a store and got very excited and into it. Come back find out my SIL has one for her two kiddos.
Like, can it actually cut down on screen time? How long can it hold the attention? I’m fascinated by the concept, but don’t know if my husband could handle having a bunch of new little figurines in the house when we’re trying to cut back on buying stuff.
That said, my daughter is a huge book girl, she loves reading(looking at the pictures) and being read to. So IDK.

Yes so worth it in my opinion! We use them in the car on trips as well my daughter gets very car sick if she looks down at all so no books coloring activities strictly tonies she puts one on looks out the window and listens with her headphones it’s really handy. They have creative tonies too where you can record yourself reading books or singing songs.

Was eyeing this one too before my daughter turned two. But then my friend said that her daughter (4) was excited at first but didn’t really use it.
Then i saw the Little tikes story dream machine which is like like a small projector. Where you put in the small story books and the character and it narrates it. Also it doubles as a white noise and night lamp. It requires batteries though but my daughter loves it. :)
And yeah you’ll be buying the “story books too” but it is worth it especially at bed time.

We intended it to cut down our little boy's screen time, but it only gets used at bedtime. It's still worth it, though, in my opinion.

My son had one for his first birthday, he’s now 2.5 and only just really starting to listen to them. But he loves playing with the little figures just on the floor and has always liked that so would still say it’s worth it. He does prefer the ones with songs to just stories at the mo too

We have a yoto mini which is very much the same concept however instead of all the characters it's cards. This means it's a lot less space it takes up but also he can take it anywhere. It's travelled to Spain twice and to Disneyland and everywhere in-between. He has it daily in the car with him. All the cards are on a ring which is then attached to the yoto so he can't drop any. From being 1 1/2 he's absolutely loved it and been able to use it. He's now 3 and the love for it is there just as much.
Just for a possible alternative and to save on space!

I bought my twins one when they were babies to help with auditory processing. I think it has been well worth it but they are pretty big. Another option is a Yoto player.

We’ve had our Yoto player for a couple weeks and it’s a huge hit. We went with this one instead of the Tony because the cards are smaller easier to travel with and you can back them up on the app so if you lose when it’s not a big deal. I’ve also heard that the card library is set up to age with the kid so a 12-year-old can still enjoy using it. Also we didn’t want more plastic knickknacks floating around to step on or whatever

We’re big tonie fans in this house - had it a few years and it’s a god send at Christmas and birthdays because the tonies are the right price point and take up no room. We don’t do tv in the day so it has been really helpful for us, I don’t like the Disney tonies personally - they aren’t the original voices and grate on me my daughter dosent seem to care though 🤷🏻♀️

My boys loooove their Toni. I brush their hair while listening to one, I clean the house while they listen to one, they are expanding their vocabulary because of them.
They’re great.

What is a tonie?
