My LO is 7 months old and started army crawling about 2 weeks ago - he is desperately trying to get on his knees but doesn’t quite have the coordination to move forward on all fours yet.
I was googling army crawling and the below came up. Does anyone have any advice or experience with their LO army crawling?
I was absolutely fine before googling!
I also am aware that there is no issue if my LO is on the spectrum, he will be loved just the same and we will take each day as it comes. His father was diagnosed as a child and so I was half expecting it. My LO is overly sociable, and doesn’t show any other signs of autism.
Just a FTM needing some advice I guess

Its absolutely normal what the heck?? 😂😂 So many babies just army crawl and grow up neurotypical. Every child is different and obv do things differently. My youngest son only army crawls and hes almost 1, just started trying to stand up. My eldest crawled “normally”.
I have 3 other family members with autism and none of them army crawled.
Dont worry about it too much. Unless your child is showing other concerning signs, you can look into in the future but no just based off crawling lool
Google is societies worst enemy. 🥴

Oh it’s normal! My little girl army crawled when she was 7 months for a few weeks and now she crawls normally and is rapid!
Don’t stress, honestly he will be crawling properly before you know it!

My girl has just turned one and has been army crawling since 8 months, she has started to crawl normally as she gets into that position to pull herself up but is quicker at army crawling so she still does it 😂 she’s recently had her 12 month review and the HV was really happy with her development.

See, I hate this because (not being rude) everything gets labelled as autism such as hand flapping, army crawling, shaking head... My son has done all these, has army crawled since he was 8 months old, he is now almost 11 months and once in awhile now he crawls on his knees

My little man has been army crawling for a week. It’s just a developmental stage for them, they have to go through it to work out the next steps. It’s also far too early to consider autism or any other diagnosis of send

Completely and utterly normal. Also, 7 months is quite early too.
Army crawling just counts as a form of crawling. Some babies do it first, then move to normal crawling.
Some just do that and move to walking.
My step son Army crawled, then went straight to walking from that and was very physically advanced for his age from then on.
They just all develop in different ways and it depends on what way they figure out to move first!
Thank you all, I think it was more just a little worry that I had missed something in him. As I say, he is so sociable, loves attention, loves being around people and smiles non stop - he’s meeting his milestones and eating very well (he’s a chubbster😂). He’s trying to get up on his knees, just needs to work on the movement part but I think he prefers army crawling to practicing normal crawling as he is fast and can shuffle for all the things he wants and shouldn’t have before I get to him😂
I did think that army crawling was a normal developmental thing but dr google just threw me off for a minute😅
Thank you again, my mind is definitely back at ease!
