Hi everyone! I have an adorable 4 1/2 month old baby who is very happy everywhere except for his car seat. He hates it on walks and he hates it in the car especially. On walks, he calms down after a little bit of motion, but in the car, he screams the entire way When it’s just me and him. When I can sit in the backseat with him if someone else is driving, he’s fine. I got him a mirror so he can see me while I drive and I sing to him and talk to him, but it doesn’t seem to help any suggestions? I’m considering switching him convertible car seat so he’s more comfortable at least.

make the switch to convertible i promise it will help! not completely right away but it will !

My 8month old is the same way! He absolutely hates the carseat. We never left him in it for walks just used the stroller seat and drives alone have been miserable. The larger car seat didn't make a difference at all so hopefully its something he will outgrow soon!

Oh girl I feel ya! Sometimes I would arrive somewhere in tears from the drive being so hard. My son screamed for the whole duration of car rides unless he was sleeping, it made me always so stressed to go anywhere. I realized he was just board and needed entertainment. Around your little guys age I started putting on Bluey or Winnie the Pooh for him during car rides, I'm not a huge fan of TV for kids but it was worth my sanity for drive...I didn't feel like I could be a safe driver with a screaming baby. I would put my phone in a ziplock bag and punch a hole in it to hang the phone on the back of the seat. I also got some noisy toys that he could play with. Toys are still hard because he throws them over the side and then he upset he doesn't have his toy. I keep a basket of toys in the front that I toss back into the car seat whenever he's upset. Once he started solids, I keep a bunch of baby teething wafers that I can pass back to him. Best of luck!
