I had a C-section 16 days ago and am still struggling with the left over sticky residue from my dressing. I can't rub the area much as I'm still quite sore if I put too much pressure on. Has anyone found a solution to removing the residue without disturbing the area too much?

Don’t take it off yet. Let it get wet in the shower over the next few weeks. I didn’t remove my little tape pieces until 4 weeks. The covering came off in the shower, I think, also from the water but then I got a non-adhesive cover from CVS just so the incision, along with the tape, wouldn’t rub up against my clothes.

I just rubbed at mine so no real help, but my baby had an NG feeding tube when she was a newborn and they used these adhesive remover wipes when changing her tube over which were amazing! You can get them on amazon but appreciate it’s a little pricey when you’d probably only need 1 or 2 wipes x

After one of my appointments, I wanna say 2 weeks, my doctor checked it and gave me alcohol wipes for it. The pieces weren’t directly on my scar though

Leave it everything didn’t come off mine until 6weeks when I was cleared to take a bath. Continue taking showers and keep it clean but don’t rub or pick at anything

I just kept it clean, I didn’t try remove anything and by the time it healed it came off naturally

My midwife removed mine for me when I was a week post partum. If you ask her she might remove it for you

My community midwife said to use oil like even vegetable oil or coconut oil an oil of any kind will help with the removal of the sticky residue . I used it on mine after c section dressing. ☺️

Mine was exactly the same, and from the sticky pads they put on to monitor heart rate, but at least they were places I could scrub more. The bit around my wound I just left and it did come off eventually! But yes as Lois said, oil is good if you're able to rub gently!

Thank you everyone! I'm still a little sore so I'll leave it a bit longer and maybe try some oil in a week or so.
