So I had my child alone, pregnancy ect the dad didn’t want any involvement. When my son was 16months old he got in touch and begged to meet our son be involved, I allowed. Roll on nearly a year later now since he first came involved and it’s been nothing but inconsistent, lack of support, doesn’t ask about him, doesn’t call him, he lost his car (I’ve offered to pay for his taxis here, trains) I’ve offered to take our son to his house, meet him halfway, Ive offered my son on a plate to this man. He’s more bothered about money. Being a “hardworking man, providing our son with a secure future” - he doesn’t pay for his son, provided nothing but a headache for me. Itll of been 5 weeks of not seeing our son when he next comes - hence I offered him to get a taxi over and I’d pay. But no all I got was his feet are swollen cause he went on a 20mile walk yesterday for his mental health and he’s doing that every Saturday to better himself. He’s got more commitment to a walk than his son. I actually feel insane. I’ve just blocked him because I’ve had enough, am I in the wrong I no longer know what to do.

You’re not in the wrong. You’re bending over backwards for him to see his son. Even if he doesn’t have a car, there’s always a way. A man who WANTS to see his son will always find a way. At this point, just let him be. He does more harm being an inconsistent father than an absent father in my opinion.
I’ve said this to him, I’m honestly losing my mind! I can’t cope with this man any longer

In my opinion, if it’s not bringing you peace, don’t even bother with it.

I feel this. My boys dad tells me he misses him yet will not come and see him, he hasn't seen him in over a month. Honestly it's not worth the stress. Stop offering and wait for him to come to you (if he even would)

Yea ive done seen from alot of outside examples to just ignore and not let him back into the child life. So you can sign up for a big sister big brother mentor program or have a uncle or a person you trust as a trusted male role model in their life... hell turn on the tv and let the child see positive male figures and documentary about them or even positive dad influenced tv shows... but you and your kid suffering from your bd bad mental health is not good...

I agree
