We’re at week 12 now and we just cannot seem to get out of this endless catnapping cycle. 😩
Is anyone else struggling with this around 12 weeks?
I always have to nap my baby in the carrier because I’ve also got a 2.5y old toddler to chase after, so it’s the only way to keep the little one close. I’m so ready for those longer daytime naps to come back! it’s exhausting for both me and the baby by the end of the day.
Would love to see your charts or hear if/when this phase passed for you. 🙏💛

Out of interest how do you put them sleep during the week for the longer nap? We are just about managing with the baby carrier but he doesn’t really seem to like it - he fights it a lot more than my first did. I thought he might want to try a pram nap on the weekend and he did that still staring thing while I was doing carpark laps, and then my toddler came out yelling at full volume and it was all over…
Have had no luck getting him down in a cot/next to me during the day, but he is fine in it for night time sleep.

your night sleeps are so impressive! How do you get your LO to sleep later and through the night like that? No matter how many good naps he gets, mine falls into night sleep from 8 and then wakes from 2am…

14 weeks this week and he averages 3 hours a day in like 20 minute naps 🥲

that’s amazing!! My boy hates sleeping anywhere but my arms in the day

enjoy the snuggles whilst you can though 🥰

so this has worked with both my boys. I have already changed to the upright seat in the pram (bugaboo fox 5 which does have an almost lie flat seat) so I put them in the pram when they’re due a nap, let them watch me potter about, interact and occasionally rock the pram but make sure it’s not moving when they fall asleep. Eventually, they just doze off. Then I’ll recline the seat and put the shade over to make it dark. I don’t let him have the dummy or any other sleep assist otherwise he’ll wake up after 37 mins (one sleep cycle) 🫠

I don't even track my baby's naps at this time, I honestly find there's no point as you can't really put them into a routine or influence their sleep patterns until they're around 4 months. I let him sleep when he wants and there usually short naps apart from 1 or 2

she loves her night sleep, we are so fortunate at the moment. She does have noisey active sleep between 4 and 6.30 but we actually have to wake her up at 7.30 otherwise she keeps sleeping. We give her a formula bottle of 5oz at about 10.30pm and make sure she is fully awake with lights on but ready for bed in her love to dream swaddle
