C-Section Tomorrow. Nerves

My c-section is tomorrow .. was a last minute change in birth plan so I’m super nervous. Not about meeting my little man but more about the epidural being put in, the canula and all that stuff. I’m not very good with it.

Any tips? Advice? Or just general how it went messages x

Hi! I had a planned section on 13/08. It was fine. The worst parts were the cannula and the epidural but honestly once those were sorted and I was ready those parts sort of faded away for me. Baby girl arrived very quickly once I was good to go (5-10 minutes) and was placed on me for some skin to skin. I’m now up and about as normal and recovery has been smooth!

I had a planned section on the 20th and it was such a positive experience and I’m so glad I chose an elective over a VBAC. I was worried about the cannula too as my veins are really difficult I had a chat with the anaesthetist before we went in and she gave me some local anaesthetic before she put it in and it really helped. The spinal I didn’t feel at all as you have some local given prior to this too. We had music on and the staff were great too. I’m up and about now just making sure I don’t over do it and stay on top of pain relief. Hope it goes well! X

I had a planned c section booked but it turned emergency yesterday as baby boy arrived early.
I was very nervous about the cannula , I told them this and they put numbing cream on which helped
The spinal hurt in places but just take deep breaths in and out and you'll be fine!

I had my elective section on 21st and honestly I couldn’t of paid for a better experience. Personally I felt no pain with the epidural or the cannula and it’s done very quickly. The whole process is so fast, before you know it you have your baby in your arms x

My c section is on Thursday and I’m just worried that if the spinal goes in too high I won’t be able to feel myself breathing. That’s my biggest worry before anything else.

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!

Owlet

Anyone else’s owlet pi##ing them off ?!?! It goes off 5/6 a night saying it can’t get a reading and needs a snug fit. My baby is 8 months old so moves a lot. It is driving me insane and I keep end up taking it off!!
