My baby constantly cries she is just over 3 weeks. It doesn’t matter if she’s skin to skin, feb, changed, and everything else. She just cries and cries and I can’t seem to settle her! Any tips?

Could it be colic?
Have you tried some infacol?

Is it trapped wind or constipation? We have started burping multiple times during feeds and also using infacol before each feed and that seemed to have helped! It’s not easy though is it! Hope you’re okay and hope it passes soon for you! X

Oh that sounds awful. My little one is very very similar! Shes now 7 weeks and started to see it settle in the last week 🤞 it's honestly really hard.
Few things I had checked when it all kicked off
- if BFing see if your local infant feeding team can review latch, excessive gulping of air can cause this
- consider a review by your GP to see if anything like reflux or cows milk allergy milk be contributing
Some people have suggested to me baths (and co-bathing if you're comfortable) but it didn't help me.
I basically would run through my list of - are you hungry, gassy, hot, cold, nappy clean. If all ticked off then id go to a dark room, skin-to-skin, white noise very loud and lots of bouncing and rocking. It worked sometimes. Sometimes it didn't! It's honestly so difficult!

There's an IBCLC on Instagram called Lucy Webber who has a post about 3-8wks which really helped me understand what was going on with my baby.

To add on if your midwife hasn't spoken about ICON I would recommend it

This crying can be a lot and so frustrating. It's okay to leave baby in a safe place and take some time to reset and come back fresh xx

Squeezing legs and hands gently helps take their mind off it. But also frequently burping helps a lot too. Hang in their mamma. Apparently clears up at 6-8 weeks x

Hi! I'm at 5 weeks and feel this so deeply. At 3 weeks I hit a wall as she cried for hours (4, maybe 5 at a time) and ended up crying down the phone to our GP. Our little one was given gaviscon for silent reflux. It's helped a little, but she's still a fussy, crying baby. As above, I recommend going through all the motions: nappy check, fart exercises, burping, feed, burping, skin to skin, try to get them to sleep. Start the process again.
I'm hoping I'll get a happy, smiley girl soon, but I really am sorry you're going through this. You aren't alone, I promise.

I feel you! The only thing settling my one is if I stand up and have him over my shoulder and tap his back.. or a pram walk! I think it’s a phase they go through..
(Of course, check with GP just incase it could be colic or reflux etc)
