Bathing baby now they sit

This might seem so obvious to some of you but we never bathed our son in the main bath tub as he had a little stand alone one we used in his bedroom. Our bathroom is tiny and horrible.
He’s now growing out of it and splashing around making a mess so tonight he’s going in the main bath.

I haven’t got another seat for the main bath as he sits independently but am I being stupid… how do I bath him?!

I feel like he’ll be so cold sat in shallow water. Do I lay him down? Do I sit him up. Do I get in the bath with him?! Like how are we bathing these babies without a seat to contain them 😂

You could get a different type of bath seat.
Sometimes I get in the bath and have him in with me although I don’t like the temperature too much ha.
Or just awkwardly hold him up with my partner helping. But recently I’ve made the bath quite shallow and let him do tummy time in it. Also sort of letting him lie on his back with my hand cupping his neck.
It hurts my knees and back but oh well ha. I do let him sit but obviously that’s harder to keep hold of him x

You can get a sit up bath seat that's 360 containment so they're nice and safe, my little one isn't sitting unaided yet so can't reccommend anything in particular but we will look at getting one when she does as she tries to launch herself out if her reclined bath seat as it is. I imagine in the sit up seat you could safely fill the tub to waist height or whatever you feel comfortable with, our reclined seat has a 'max fill' line on it not sure if the sit up seats do too. If you didn't want to buy something I've seen people saying about lying them flat but obviously you'd need such a small amount of water to be safe (personally wouldnt feel safe doing this know how squirmy my baby is), equally you could bath with him I have a couple of times with my little one it's nice for bonding

I just lay my little girl in the bathtub with enough water just below her ears! She loves kicking and splashing about! I do have some little anti slip sea creatures so she's not slipping everywhere x

No slip bath mat at the bottom of the bath. With my first son we just had him sitting up in the bath at this age but with this baby he seems to prefer lying down for now in shallow water.

I just sit mine up on a bathmat without a seat. He tends to bath with his big sister, so can't lie him down and they splash about together.

Thanks everyone! First bath time was a bit of a mess as I think he was a bit unsure but I was more confident than I thought. I kept the water really low and tried him sitting and laying but he definitely preferred sitting!
I can’t believe they are old enough to even do this! 🥹

We have a bath seat that goes to 18 months that we used for our daughter so just use that. He loves it x

We have the angelcare brand seats in the main bath. Some people get in with them, it's your choice. We have a bath thermometer floating in there n fill the tub roughly so the bottom third of the seat is in the water, n then pour it over her, sponge, play etc.

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.

Big nursing bras!

I’m looking for recommendations for good nursing bras for bigger breasted ladies!

I’m currently in a 38H which seems to be the biggest size done at M&S (UK based mama here) and it’s snug and not as supportive as I’d like. When I look online, they mainly seem to be sized S, M, L, XL etc rather than bra sizes.

Any recommendations please?

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?
