Hi everyone,
I have had an emergency C-section before and opted for an elective this time round.
I have a telephone appointment next week with an anaesthetist. Those who have had an elective before do you know if I will be given a date for a c-section at this appointment? Xx

I think it really depends on the trust. I am booked in for an elective one at the end of October and was informed about the date straight after my consultant meeting which was weeks ago - this is under Hampshire
Elective c-sections take place during your 39th week unless they feel there is a health reason to do it earlier

Your anaesthetist is unlikely to give you the appointment, but doesn’t hurt to ask them and see if they can check if anything has been added to your notes. I was told I wouldn’t get a date until around 37 weeks

I’m the same as you lovely,
I got given a date of section mines in the 39 week mark xx

I am 37 weeks and having an elective c section (3rd one) wanting date to be told to me and am hoping 39 weeks but still waiting for someone to confirm and contact me.

Depends on the procedure in your area. In mine (Aberdeen) they let you know the Thursday before what day to go in. So on Thursday 2nd October I'll be given a date for the week beginning 6th October. However, my friend, who is Glasgow based, had her date a month before!

Gotcha, I’m Buckinghamshire and so I’m hoping to hear from them soon so I can organise child care ect.. good luck with the operation ladies, it’s not easy! I wish I had my date at so ready to see him now x

Thank you, everyone 💓
I have gestational diabetes and Epilepsy, I am hoping to get given the date as my son is in Reception and we won't have anyone to take him to school so I would like to speak to the school.
I am 35 weeks and 4 days and due 19th October.
Good luck to everyone here x
