got a pair of glasses less than 2 years ago on medicaid, they were not a strong enough prescription at all (even with me having done an eye exam) so i never wore them, and inevitably ended up losing them in my move
now i can feel my eyes getting worse from how bad i need to strain to see, but ik the original paperwork said something about it only being every 2 years that they cover them, and they weren’t responsible for them being lost
i keep meaning to call and see if they would replace them early, solely for the fact that i need a stronger prescription anyway, but by the time i finally remember, and have downtime it’s always the weekend, and i end up forgetting again
so if anyone had something similar happen or knows in the meantime (i will also totally check here at some point and be like OH YEAH if i forget again so 😝) were you able to have them replaced early? or am i SOL till nxt year ? 🙃

I have had a similar experience but wasn't on medicaid. I also handled it IMMEDIATELY. Your vision isn't to be played with and the fact you got an exam, they obviously gave you the wrong script, you knew and still accepted it... how bad did you really need them?? IDK where you were at in the moment, but you need to talk to them yesterday. And if you got em 2 years ago, and they say they'd cover them for 2 years, how could you be SOL? Call them if you really want answers and a solution. Or go get the exam and glasses somewhere else and await the bill. Either way, you need them

Wasnt personally in this situation but my sister was and they did make her wait for the 2 years

I get it. So, use your lunch break to make these important calls and tell your employer to expect you to be absent on said date. I'm the epitome of a single mother, I know what limited time feels like
