Hi lovelies 💕
I get ovulation around cd24 on a 29 day cycle, making my luteal phase only about 4-5 days long. I track with 3 things- bbt, ovulation strips and observing discharge. I have read many womens experiences in the internet and found a few whose experience was very similar to mine. Yesterday I went to see a gynaecologist and she basically told me that I am making this up and short luteal phases don’t excist in women who otherwise have regular periods. She did not even want to do any tests because everything is “perfectly fine” because I DO ovulate and I DO have periods. 🙄
I read that people with my experience have taken clomid and that has helped them to ovulate earlier and get a longer luteal phase. I am just wondering how did you get a doctor to prescribe you clomid? Because they first have to believe in what is happening. 31 am y/o.

If they are dismissive of your experience you can ask for a second opinion. So awful when you feel you have to fight just to be heard, especially when you have the data from the tracking to back it up. I hope you get it sorted

Sadly, LPD is often quickly dismissed. I did a 6 month course of Clomid and it did lengthen my luteal phase when I was taking it. I didn’t conceive on it, but did conceive a few months after stopping it, he’s now 16 months old so despite my short luteal phase, I had enough progesterone to sustain pregnancy

Update & success story: I called a fertility clinic asking for Ovulation Induction and found a doctor who actually listened to me. He said “we have not been taught about this in med school but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.” I took letozole for the OI cycle. They also found my estrogen levels were too low and prescribed estradiol. I have just leardned I am pregnanct after just 1 cycle of OI!
