Oyster 4 pram opinions

We are considering the Oyster 4 as our first pram as it can convert into a double if needed.
Is it too heavy or bulky? Is the basket big enough? Is it worth the money? It's definitely cheaper than Cybex gazelle or uppababy vista.

I ended up getting the egg and I will say the Oyster is VERY similar but without the price tag - if I didn’t get the egg I would have 100% got the Oyster!

It really depends on what you’re looking for - in comparison with the egg, the egg is heavy and bulky but it stays in the car so I ain’t moving it back and forth - and the upside with the Oyster it folds with the seat attached unlike the Egg.

My friend got a cheaper travel system for when her girl was born and now she’s a year she ended up going and buying the Oyster because it was a lot more substantial.

Are you going to be doing a lot of walking where you’ll need a more bulky pushchair to withstand terrain? Or you going to be getting on public transport and need something more travel friendly? Those are the questions if you’re worried about being bulky etc.

I’m so glad I got a bulky/heavy pushchair in the end because it’s sturdy and I don’t need to worry about it tipping over or catching the wheels on pavements etc xxx

I will do both. I want something that can handle mud, grass, and uneven terrains, but I will also use it on public transport. We looked at the egg, and we thought it was too heavy and bulky. We also live in a flat. I like that the carrycot in the oyster is approved for overnight sleeping

Unfortunately, prams that can handle off-road are never the lightest. We went to different shops, we tried the egg, gazelle and vista. We liked Gazelle and Vista, but we would like to try the oyster before deciding. They are definitely not the lightest, I know. City prams don't seem great for off-road. We will go out again on Saturday and hopefully we can try the oyster

We loved the oyster 4, but ended up going for the silver cross cove… very similar & worth looking at to compare! We wanted easy to get in & out the car weight wise, big basket, easy to fold & all terrains. Egg I found too bulky.

Cove is also safe for overnight sleeping! X

I will look at the Cove, thanks

I’m pretty certain on the oyster 4 as I need a second seat for my toddler . I like the fact that it folds down in one easy go with the seat attached as that was my selling point ! I hated my old one having to detach the seat and fold up was a pain!

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Baby with chronic congestion

Hi everyone! My 1 year has been a congested baby since birth almost. She breathes through her mouth so often that it wakes her up multiple times at night and she cries and screams and then struggles to go back to sleep. She wakes up every 1-3 hours and sometimes can’t go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!!! Piriton is the only thing that seems to help her sleep mostly through the night but I can’t keep giving her that!!
Does anyone have tips as to have I can do or give her? Has anyone experienced? I have no idea when I’ll get an ENT appointment and I have no idea what he can give a 13 mo :( we are desperate for sleep so any tips are welcome!! We have tried steam inhalation, saline drops, vapour rubs and everything off the counter basically!

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?
