I’m going away in a few weeks with a 1 year old for 10 days so will need a lottt of baby food (jars and pouches)
Does anyone have any tips to pack to put them in checked in luggage without breaking/ pouches staying in tact? As I know the pressure of flying can do a lot to even my skincare items 😅
I know this might be a silly question but I’m sure someone else has wondered before 😂

Why can’t you feed baby what food you eat rather than taking loads of jars and pouches?

I’d just take some dry snacks and a few fruit/yogurt pouches in ziplock bags for emergencies. One year old should be able to eat what you are eating if you mash on a separate plate. Just travel with bibs and some plastic spoons for when eating out

Do you mean ready made jars and pouches from a store? If that's the case they won't open or leak in the plane don't worry. If you mean homemade I suggest you get glass containers with a twisting lid. That's what I did and never had issues. But those definitely won't last 10 days.

1. Your one year old should be on table food, not purees unless there is a medical reason for being on purees still
2. Why is eating what you eat or buying purees at your destination not an option?

No tips but wanted to say I understand. When my kid was one he wouldn't eat meat or veggies unless it was jarred or in pouches. He ate fine at daycare and ate breads and fruits at home but we were concerned with making sure he ate more balanced so we relied on jars and pouches. Now that he is two, he is finally starting to eat meat and veggies not prepackaged in jars or pouches.

I also want to mention that I have friends who are also in a similar situation travelling to Asia and their kid has a nut allergy so to avoid any incidents they packed a lot of food they knew was nut free

All this advice about kid eating what you eat. That’s not what she asked. My little boy still had pouches when he was 1 otherwise he’d rather starve and it was not a lack of trying. He’s 2 now and eats just fine.
When we travelled I got packing cubes from Amazon. Packed the pouches in each just in case of any spillage then made sure not to overfill the suitcase. It was a long haul flight and they were fine

I personally like to take pouches even though my daughter is 2.5 years old. I travel for work and sometimes I can’t read the foreign label, or there is a lot of salt she isn’t used to, and I know if I take the pouches to make a base sauce from that it’s organic and free of nasties. Some places also have limited variety so it takes the stress and time out if wandering around.
I pack the pouches in a zip bag in the middle of soft items in clothes. I’ve never traveled with glass jars however so can’t speak for those, you can also take a decent bag through security if you have more breakable stuff.
Enjoy your travels!
