Hey girlies, I’m trying to pull my 12 year-old out of school and do homeschooling. She’s having a lot of problems in school and I personally believe she would be better off doing online school. I’m not really sure how the process works. I’m hoping someone on here could give me a few suggestions or some information when it comes to homeschooling.

I would recommend going on FB and looking up homeschool groups, locally and state wide, experienced homeschool parents will be able to offer advice on the process of withdrawal as well as other pertinent information of record keeping that may be necessary.
I will add, some these online schools are still considered public school, which then means your child may still be required to complete any state standardized tests/ curriculum.

I can’t speak to the pulling her out process but being in FL you can homeschool her with the Fl Virtual School which use to be free back when I was in school. lol
But lots of parents use it to homeschool so you can be more like her principal/tutor and not have to be the teacher. It’s likely still a free option available to you and would still allow her to have access to teachers online without the common in person issues typical school brings. Plus you have a bit more control over which classes and how fast she does them that way.

There is also a homeschool scholarship in FL that you can apply for that can pay for any test, supplies, partial private school attendance (if you want her to go a few times a week and homeschool the rest of the time etc), supplies, curriculum, etc. …. You can apply when it opens again in 2026 on the Step Up for Students Website 💌 https://www.stepupforstudents.org/

Hey Girl send me a message I could help I get started it’s super easy and literally cost nothing! Just need access to a library
