Thoughts on mylicon gas drops

Hello I’m wondering if anyone has any thoughts or willing to share their experience. My baby that is 4 Months has recently been experiencing more spit up, arching of the back, extra fussy and uncontrollable crying episodes the worst he has ever had minus 1 or 2 times the first week he was born. I am thinking it is gas, colic or some kind of stomach discomfort. If you’ve experience this what have you tried? Have you tried mylicon gas drops?? Thank you in advance

Mylicon has been a life saver for us! We tried mommy’s bliss gripe water too but our girl hates the taste and will spit it out at us no matter what we do so we stick to Mylicon and it helps with gas a lot! We now only do it after meals (she’s 8 months now) so also added in probiotic drops to my breast at night time feeds

My daughter lived on those mylicon gas drops! I cannot recommend them enough!

We are using them on my 8 week old. He was grunting and straining but not getting gas out very effectively. They stopped the straining but the unproductive grunting didn't stop for another week until we also tried switching from Doc Brown bottles to Nuk. We had exhausted ourselves with bicycle legs and all the other tricks for gas prior. Try one thing at a time so you know what's working and it might be multiple things that ultimately help. But talk with the pediatrician.

My 2 year old still uses Mylicon drops. I have sworn by them her whole life. Hah

Reflux peaks at 4 months apparently, could be that. You can get infant gaviscon to try

Yes , get it on Amazon , 2 for $40 I think . I find that it works better than bio gaia for my baby, which can sometimes kick in the next day. It helps when she is constipated.

The gas drops didn’t end up cutting it for us. Eventually his doctor diagnosed him with GERD, gave us essentially “baby tums” and he aged out of it by 6 months. I can’t remember what the script was called but it definitely saved our life.

They helped a lot for me with both of my kids

I used the mylicon drops but I don’t know that they do anything for sure. It’s hard to tell because I ALSO learned to do tummy massages. Even if he was crying like you described I would do up the left side times gently applying pressure, across the tummy left to right, and then down the right side. About 10 times each. And then down the belly in random strokes. And then I would take his legs and bring his knees up like you do when you do bicycle kicks. And repeat.

The point is to hopefully move the gas that is stuck by following the intestinal track A lot of times he would fart but sometimes still cried. But there times this was the only thing that helped - he would sometimes fall asleep. I started doing these tummy rubs daily from 4 weeks on.

People kept saying he would get over it but I would have to wait until 14 weeks but I felt helpless when he would cry.

I also did probiotics (again no idea if those really work). But a combo of all of these his gas went from a multiple day screaming fit to maybe every few days to none at all.

I did find he would poop 30 min after I did this. And be so relieved. Also a note if it matters he was on BM at the time but still had some gas when we started supplementing with formula by 8 weeks.

We have used mylicon. Sometimes it’s the only thing that would get us through. It didn’t hurt anything and sometimes you need to try everything that could possibly work. My son is now a happy, healthy 2 yr old. Also, lots of bicycling his feet and scrunching his legs to his belly

I tried everything, nothing worked, except giving him little less milk, it turns out he loves to eat. He is a happy baby since then

They are great if your baby is having gas pains paired with gripe water because they can’t have to much of the drops a day but def give it a try

We use the drops all the time and have for both our kids. Big help!

Not drinking

I’m going crazy. Baby born at 2.26kg. Slow to put on weight. This last week hasn’t put on any. Been trying to feed him at night and he’s not interested at all. Fast asleep. During day he will have 5 minute gulps and that’s it. He don’t cry for milk. I’ve got to keep offering to him. I try to offer it every hour but I don’t know what I’m doing. HV said nutrition comes after 5 minutes so I should pump first and then give him. I find it so hard. I tried to pump one boob nothing came. The other abit came. Tried giving him express he’s not interested in that too. Sometimes he will go for a longer a feed but not long at all. He’s 4 months and is currently 5.46kg. I have no family or friend support here and wish I had a cook, cleaner and nanny to help with everything so I can concentrate on the little one. I don’t know what’s wrong with him but I’m loosing it. It doesn’t help that my also stressed generally about my relationship and life circumstances. Any advice that will work. Any comfort you can give. I’m fed up. Is this regression - not feeding. He’s fast fast asleep. I’ve been trying to push the nipple in but that mouth is closed shut. I took some clothes off. Changed his nappy but he’s still asleep. Please help

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
