My son just seems to have been ill every week since October when he started nursery.
It’s really wearing thin on me now, I feel so lost within sickness bugs. Without sounding too dramatic they’re literally ruling my life at the moment and I’m really not enjoying motherhood right now.
I envy my partner for being at work. I dread waking up to just do the same mundane thing of nursing a sick child. I literally spent the whole day in my pijamas covered in sick because he’s been stuck to me. I couldn’t even pop him in his cot to shower because he saturated it in sick so it was airing out.
I can’t even talk about the challenges that come with meal times. He’s running on a cream cracker right now, everything I make just get thrown or tantrums start. I don’t blame him, I know he doesn’t want to be like this.
I’m seriously considering taking him out of nursery. The germs are really too much, he only goes twice a week while I’m at work but the other 5 days he’s either got a cold or sickness. I can’t catch a break.

I wish I could work 2 days a week, dealing with this and trying to work full time feels impossible 😞 I feel you !
My stress levels are through the roof x

It’s been the same here, since our girl started nursery it’s been back to back colds (currently crying with a blocked nose) and it’s so hard. Being run down too is doubly hard trying to look after a little one!

It's SO tough and utterly exhausting. Hang in there is all I can say. My daughter (now 3) had about three or four months of constant bugs when she started nursery at 10 months and then it just all seemed to die down after that and nowadays she just gets the odd cold and it's usually not more than a runny nose or a wee cough. My little boy has been exposed to second hand nursery bugs since birth so he has the immune system of an ox seemingly, but even he has had a fair few colds since starting nursery a couple of months ago. It's so hard to deal with by yourself when your other half is at work, but it does get better, honestly! Xxx

It’s so hard, I get it. My LG started nursery 4 months ago and has been sick more times than she’s been well. She’s had S&D twice, Cold, HFMD, UTI, croup followed by a chest infection and conjunctivitis. And out of all of that the sickness was the worst thing to manage.
At least with the other illnesses you can just comfort them but sickness is exhausting constantly having to change clothes and bedding, clean carpets and furniture.
We had 7 weeks on the trot of illness and then it seems to have eased off. So hopefully you won’t have to deal with it as often soon! It’s just annoyingly the best way for them to build an immune system

We’ve been the same since her birthday, feel so sorry for her as she’s constantly not well, we’ve been to the hospital twice already 😩 spend the week dreading her going to nursery and she’s not even doing a full day yet.
Thanks for replying all. I’m glad it’s not just me. Sometimes, when I see all the BS people throw out on socials and the life they portray, I really do question my capabilities as a mum, your comments have spoken in volume ❤️ xx

We’ve had the exact same since he started. Me and his dad have caught eveything as well . Me and his dad STILL have effects of RSV after weeks 😑

Since my son was born in October, until August, we had 6 sick bugs in the house. My daughter is almost 4 and bought most of the germs home from the childminders! I have a sick phobia, so it was rough, i totally feel your pain!! X

Same here I’m fed up she’s not been able to go into nursery a few times and yesterday was a struggle to get her looked after can’t keep calling off work I get every cold too and feel like iv had one since October
