Just wondering if anyone else has had the same issues or there's a problem with me. Since I gave birth via c section I assumed that sex would be the same post partum. Im 7 weeks pp (almost 8) and we've tried to have sex twice and its quite painful. Almost like its very dry and sore. Ive tried lube which helps a bit. But I dont understand why its like this if I had a c section. I really want to enjoy sex again and im worried that there's something wrong. I did get to 7 cm dilated before the c section so not sure if that still has any effect on it. Its gotten to the point where im tensing so much during sex which is inadvertently making it worse.
Also how do I speak to my partner about this without offending him in any way?

Lube! So much lube! Your hormones are absolutely insane right now. Doubly so if you are breast-feeding. You can’t necessarily rely on your body to react the same as it has in the past, and dryness is absolutely part of that. So find a lube you like. Total game changer.

this is completely normal for many different reasons, but also because of hormones - they cause the dryness.
i would just talk to your partner openly about it. you’ve been thru pregnancy and so much changed in your body.. give it the chance to heal. maybe research a little bit on the subject so you have the tools to talk about it. if having the convo with your partner feels weird, maybe share some articles.
understanding your body has been thru so much during pregnancy and surgery/ c section will help both of you to be more patient in this process.
don’t get discouraged by the pain, it’ll get better eventually (but again, being gentle and patient is the way) and keep using lots of lube

I had pain for longer time and physiotherapy helped me

I had this exact problem. I was at 9cm before my c section, almost 4 months pp now. Doctor said it’s normal, use lots of oil based lube, lots of foreplay.
If you’re BFing you’ll be drier as well.
It’s slowly improving for me but it’s taking a long time. Different positions help too.

Doesn’t matter how baby was born this is very normal

It sounds like hypertonic pelvic floor - I had an emergency c section and it caused this and it sounds exactly like that you're describing. Tensing will absolutely be making it worse!

Just read your post again and I'm almost certain you'll be suffering from hypertonic pelvic floor too since you dilated as well before the c section.

I didn’t have a c-section but my doctor prescribed me estrogen cream that you insert nightly and that helped my dryness and pain soooo much
