Elective C-section ignored?

Hello, I am looking for some advice and guidance. (And vent a little bit)

I’m about to be 34 weeks and I am worried about how I have been ignored (or I feel it like that) about opting for an elective c-section in the public service (Ireland). I brought my petition quite early and it always had been brushed off. In my last appointment at week 32. I insisted, and demanded to be written down for it, the doctor agreed but coincidentally the consultant who does that was sick… and they told me to wait until next appointment that it will be at week 36-37 just to talk for the first time to the consultant.
I wondering if this is normal procedure or it is BS. I saw some posts and comments that by week 36 it was all settled. Should I push it before my next appointment?

To add to my worries I have developed Cholestasis (I was diagnosed in the A&E yesterday) it is too low yet to do anything about it but told me to come next week to check it again. So I now have that possibility that I may have to give birth earlier and I have nothing planned :(

the majority of women don’t get there elective dates till 39 weeks! as in they don’t actually have a date until then . they take a long time to get dates as there’s a lot of others who are prioritised first who need a C section . these days C section is more common than vaginal so they are very booked up , if your only 33-34 weeks you definitely won’t have a date by then , it is usually booked at 38-39 weeks. 33 weeks you won’t have had a birthing plan appt yet which is usually at the 36 week appointment so it doesnt really sound like bs to me it sounds like standard procedure so bring it up at that appointment. if they’ve acknowledged what you’ve said , don’t expect a date this soon! . but i wouldn’t worry , not having a date at this stage is totally
normal

Advocate for yourself. I had a rough pregnancy and KNEW I would not be delivering vaginally. I begged for a c section but told it would be a shame in the obstetrical world as I’ve delivered 2 babies vaginally. They put me through a 4 day failed induction and I ended up exhausted having an urgent c section at 3 am. My doctor later told me they likely let me go for FOUR DAYS because I’d had vaginal births. I was asking doctors to consider c sections after 2 days. It is your choice. Tell them you will not be delivering vaginally and you want a c section. I wish I did.

I had the same worry for my elective section. I felt brushed off at every appointment. I was attending NMH. I think it was week 38/39 when I got my date for section. Please try not to worry it’s normal to make you wait. Not a nice feeling I know but it will work out x

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!
