Bournemouth or Dorchester?

I had my boy in dorchester, and cannot fault the team at all, from what was a very stressful labour and birth, they kept me as calm as I could be and the whole team were amazing from start to finish 🥰

I also had my baby at Dorchester, and I cannot recommend them highly enough! My pregnancy was high risk and they were so great throughout!! And my c-section and recovery after was excellent!x

I can also vouch for how lovely Dorchester were with me ❤️

I'm due to give birth at Bournemouth hospital at the end of Jan - from what I've seen so far everything has been recently renovated, all rooms are private, etc. I've also heard great things about other mums who have given birth there recently!

I was registered to give birth at Dorchester hospital, but they were full when I went into labour so I ended up at Bournemouth - the facilities were great, new private en-suite rooms, all of them have pools, I had a good experience, water birth like I wanted. The team was very friendly and everything went well. I think we're pretty lucky where we are, as both hospitals are pretty good! 😊

One thing to keep in mind is that Dorchester doesn't have a NICU so if baby needs intensive care they will be transferred to Bournemouth. I had a very positive experience in Bournemouth & the private rooms are a bonus

I’ve had both my boys at Dorchester! My second I had to stay longer as he was under SCBU care for 5 days, everyone is so so lovely and I had such a lovely birth experience, especially recently. Definitely recommend Dorchester!!

I gave birth and the new maternity ward in Bournemouth which was brilliant. That entire part of the hospital is brand new, all the midwives were so lovely and caring and I had a really positive experience dispite the fact I was there 6 days!
